They might like that, though.
Well, by this point, there are few guilds that are at equal strength, so even if siege matchup was perfect, most sieges would still end up unbalanced. And even if 2 guilds are at equal strength, that's almost entirely dependent on whether the 1-2 OP players and their pocket healers showed up. When everyone was a oneshot and there were 30 real people on each side, 3 or 4 people not coming isn't a win or lose difference. Now 1-2 people can be a win or get crushed difference.Siege matchups have sucked for ages, and they are not getting better. We get matched against 250 points guild one day, and against 42K points guild the next day. Either way, no enjoyment to be had - certain win is just as unfun as certain loss. And, yes, we are losing people over that.
The problem is that pvp gear was introduced to stop one shot, however it was poorly implemented in that the people using pvp gear should have experienced a drop in their dps, which did not happen. and this problem got escalated higher as most other ppl decided not to spend their dias on fail gems to stat up a pvp set for themselves. and then there are FotM classes that just have unfair advantage over others.

Well, people did lose a lot of DPS from PvP gear, but then stronger classes came about that could do even more DPS. But yeah, I agree with you that the amount of DPS somebody in honor gear and playing a fotm class can do is a bit too high.

Yeah siege was better when it required no skill at all. Click fireball and a person dies. How fun... At least now it takes a bit of know-how. The 1-2 OP people per guild are OP because they're good players. Don't even start with cost of Siege gearing or P2W bull because I saw Maimed tear through guilds in +12, bag statted Honor Gear for a really long time.
Rogues can do good in full PvE gear in Siege. If they're smart and pick their fights. Which most aren't. There's only a handful of these players per server. Everyone else just doesn't know how to play.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AH_iU8u4z20How on earth did siege require more skill before, it was literally whoever can spam their buttons faster and has a better computer just wins cuz whoever gets the first shot off wins lol. Atleast now the fights are longer and there's more opportunity now to use different skills and items and such, as opposed to rogues just dominating because of hide.

Now those noobs can live much longer until somebody's CD's come up because of pocket heals, defense 8 and honor gearguess what, Bakken is still good now. Anyone who was better than the rest back then probably still is one of those good people now. Only difference is, good people don't get one shot by noobs that don't know how to play properly.

Suggestion: Make Declaration of War not affect points, then have points AND ONLY POINTS, affect match-ups. There. Fixed for the most part.
... and numerous others Semi-retired
Keep the points thing and declarations, but matchup guilds which have points drop between official sieges with the highest point guilds for an extended period of time. Maybe 30 straight sieges where they have to go against the higher ranked guilds. Seems fitting and gives the highest point guilds a little more flavor.
Not that they would do it of course. This post has been edited 1 times, last edit by "lesmceld" (Oct 7th 2015, 1:01am)
