To those who are thinking about returning

I know there are other like me, who loved ROM a lot. I really enjoyed logging in every night and running this game with friends that I made in game. I have found no other game out there that can compare to the atmosphere and friendships that I had in Rom. Anyway, what I want to say is this. If you enjoyed this game before, maybe try it again. I just recently came back from a long break and seem to be content with some of the improvements, and changes to this game. The server merges seem like a great thing. I read there will be some changes to the cash shop so maybe it wont be as expensive as before but who knows. I look forward to seeing some old names coming back.

Coming from someone who never stopped playing, thanks for returning. It is always a good choice to retry things. And things are getting better. It is a work in progress. Your post being positive is great.

Thank you! I just really loved this game for a long time. Things lead me away for a while but I want to give it another go. I was talking to old friend the other day about our old times in Rom, and we both agreed that Rom had the best concepts, dungeons, gear, and all around content we have ever dealt with in an Mmo. We left because yes it was expensive to be "great" and it was buggy. But, I miss it and want to make the best out of it that I can. I hope there are other who will come back and give it another try.

Doubt I'll be coming back, but I hope the merge gives the game what it needs. On the west side of the world at least.

We finished a pug coe run earlier today. Started at like noon or 1pm EST. Lot of stats and stuff circulating in world chat as well. Looking good....for now.

BB says is about how I look at it. They took a little too long for me to be excited about playing again. I still run dailies just in case we change our minds... but I don't see that happening. Remembering the gear treadmill makes me tired just thinking about it.

however, I hope this is what the game needs. If I ever do decide to play again, I would rather there be a game to come back to. Hopefully one in better shape

I see the point you guys make. It is a great start to a new direction but there is still more that needs to be accomplished for more than just some to make a come back. I believe that they are trying and we will have to see where it leads. I too hope to see a resurrection in this game.

idk the gear treadmill is nowhere near what it once was... nowadays you can still be very viable with even a beth lvl 80 set of gear as long as it had newer stats on it... you dont have to regear every chapter like you did (imo) lvl 55-75 ranges.
hell im still wearing some lvl 82 pieces myself atm lol.

They brought back eoj farming for good stats, brought back mem pulls for stats... now arena gives good stats... and there are world bosses a plenty nowadays for poms, and they also do one or two pom events a year to where if you play your cards right you can poms to last you straight until the next event, without spending a dime on the game.

yea item shop still expensive bla bla, plussing tiering etc. But there are still plenty of diamond sellers around to help out..

It really has gotten a lot easier and better imho.

Its not the end by no means i assure you... but the point of this post is to show i think they are trying, and we are headed in a good direction.

You don't even need to +16 every item >.> The items that give stamina when plussed can be left low. Just make a few cheap stam/hp/pdef pieces for those places that you actually need the hp like PoM trash.

I personally don't think I will be playing here like I used to besides being social every once in a while. Had a lot of great experiences here and got to run with a bunch of great people but I'm afraid the merge has come a bit late for me.

However I do hope that this merge brings the active players what they need to continue to enjoy the game and I wish the best of luck to The Bteam and Heavensfury (and all others) on your future endeavors :airborne:

You may not need to spend a dime, but you sure as hell need to spend the time. I don't know if this applies to all MMOs but ROM requires an unreasonable amount of time to accomplish tasks, from questing to doing minigames and eojs and spamming instances for stats and gear. If you try to gear using shell stats with just one toon, it will take you over a year or two to get your stats because of how stupid the pull rates are. Same thing with eojs or inis or poms. To get what you need you have to make two dozen alts. If you only have a couple hours per day to play, the only things you will be able to do are minigames or siege and you will fall very far behind in a hurry. As much as I love ROM and think it's a great game, it doesn't really offer much for casual players. It's really no mystery why the population is so low--who has so much time to play?

oh im not disputing you have to spend eventually.. ORR someone has to spend for you, if you buying diamonds from someone.. but i have been only been able to play 2-3 hours a day for a few months now... and ive gotten a few arcanium stats i need, a few eoj stats i need and a few shell stats i need... you dont need to be cutting edge anymore in the era of buff alts friend. Half of my gear doesnt even have stats higher than 200 on them lol, and im still very viable in any runs needed... you dont need to stat something every week to keep up... i havent statted anything or replaced anything i think in like 6+ months.... some in bteam like i said are still wearing lvl 80 beth gear just with updated stats... it really doesnt matter if you fall behind somewhat anymore...ive been behind for quite some time now when i used to regear every. single. update. haha

I might not even regear until lvl 100 comes around who knows?

Once you get to endgame.. i clearly think you can stay endgame with only playing a few hours a day, but i understand some cant.
