I thought you'd want a hotspot for botters since then you have all the botters conveniently gathered in one spot for the banhammers to feast on.

Did we ever get any sort of confirmation that the easy EoJ events were removed for the reason of "botters"? Or, is it more probably game balance?

there has been no "official" confirmation OR even announcement that the EoJ quest for research expert is been taken down. it's only Zid saying that it was due to botters.

errr.... game balance?

there is nothing balanced about EoJ's. that quest just made it more tolerable than the other ones. so if you mean that they wanted us to suffer equally on all EoJs than I guess you could call it balance.

IIRC, i did hear from someone that they went into IRC to ask about it and it was said that the EOJ quest was removed because of botters. This is just "word on the street".

If it wasnt because of botters and for some odd reason like it was too easy, people still had to mindlessly click on potions for hours and hours before being able to get a CHANCE of pulling something nice. EOJs will always be a mindless grind and people will go and find the easiest ones. Some of them tooooooo easy...

EOJs, and mems/shells in general, just need an increase % to get something good. I remember the first time splitwater opened and I heard you could get good bones stats, I had to pull 14 times till i got a str/pa bones. FOURTEEN :dash: :dash: :dash: , grrrr if im gonna have to grind that much EOJs, im sure as hell gonna find the most efficient quest. unfortunately it was one that could be easily botted.

I don't know, I used to do the potion EoJ...a lot...and I never saw any suspicious behavior. You just get good at it with repetition. I could go in and clear 1st place in all three channels in around 10 mins manually clicking. Quicker if there were others to help. You'd see the same toons there doing the same thing in around the same amount of time...there was one guy that was slightly faster than me...kudos to him. Maybe the bots would go in at odd times? idk. Back when dogmeat was unbound, or crab eggs, you would see the bots going at it, but those were long drawn out affairs where they would farm for hours on end...something different and more "bot friendly". Just sayin, those were my observations, so when the botting explanation first came up i was all like wtf? Personally, I think they took them out because they were too easy and they don't want us to have easy things.

If easy means 3-4h of mindless clicking for a nice stat because rest are /mdef, they have a different definition of easy than us :pinch:

I think the reason was not botting (I haven't seen _any_, actually, and it would be quite illogical to bot in spot light).

Imho, it's either due to baseless QQing on the forum, or amount of work to process false accusations of botting (you ban someone, have extra work reading her explanation and the next day after unbanning she gets reported again :P).

Anyway, imho not having a fast EoJ quest is effectively the same as not having EoJ at all. :(

1. Maybe there could be event about getting as much EoJ per server as possible: it would encourage ppl to find spots where farming in a big raid would actually make sense.

But first rewards should be increased and flattened. If indeed you remove solo EoJ quests because they are meant to be done by a larger assembly of ppl, then you cannot drop the rewards for the 2nd, 3rd and so on place so fast. Make it 75 for the 1st place, 74 for the second and so on : only then you may hope that there might be 50+ ppl participating in one event in one zone.

You cannot have a event with different rewards if you are making it for large parties. Just make the same EOJ reward the same for all people in the event. What is the problem with giving everyone who completes a quest in the event 35 EOJ? They still have to complete at least 8 events to get anything. Then you add the failure rate of using the EOJ to pull you actually have to compete in dozens of events to ensure a good pull.

it is just they enjoy making the players jump through hoops for hours then walk away with nothing. There is a sadistic factor in the programming,

What's stopping one person only turning in 1 quest while the others work hard and do the quest multiple times if all rewards are the same? Unless the quest gives like 1k points or something. There has to be some kind of extra reward for the people actually grinding EoJs vs ppl there for one or two turn ins.

Bring back multiple channels in AKR and chrysalia. Duoing with another person, I was able to do 4 channels within the time frame it was great, and it fairly difficult to have a bot setup and do them all, since it required a decent amount of moving around, not just spamming a few buttons. (and not talking about Taz or w.e that broken EoJ was.)

Or maybe increase the rewards for much harder quests. Like going around killing 10 mobs gives maybe 50 more points and takes 5 times as long vs spamming one quest over and over again at a much higher rate. How does that make any sense? At least this way, if someone wanted to bot it, the toon has to at least be geared to do it. And it would be insanely obvious if someone was.

The point is that everyone in the event should get the same reward even for just turning in one quest. That would make parties viable. So many more people would start doing them again. Do you really think that a person turning in one quest would just stick around 20 minutes and turn in one again for the hours it would take to get enough EOJ for an item. Most people quit doing the events because a very few people got too good at it and would always take up the first 4 or 5 positions and it was not worth while for anyone else to do an event even finishing 3rd because the rewards were so low that it would take days of doing events full time to get anything and eventually most people stopped doing the events. So unless you could do it solo or with a duo you could never complete the event.
You want to reward 1 or 2 people for working hard and being lucky enough to finish 1st or second while punishing those who work just as hard who were not luck enough to finish 1st or 2nd by denying them a decent reward. That is why no one is doing the events any more and humans were replaced by bots because only bots didn't care if they finished 1st or 2nd they just stood there all day.
When you want humans to do something you have to make it worth their while when only the very best get a reward only those will play. That is what happened all the humans except the very best and lucky just stopped doing EOJs and were replaced by bots. It is that kind of thinking that created the bots.
