IS item drops in-game

I'm fairly certain this topic has been requested before, but here goes...

1. IS Items should have a drop rate on the LAST BOSS of an instance for @ LEVEL parties.
2. The items should be randomly generated from whatever is listed in the IS database.

Let's explain part 1 above:

Each instance will be awarded a level range that is +/- 2 levels of the instance. IE, a level 55 instance should be runnable by level 53 - 57 toons to receive the chance for IS drops.

At any point in the instance that any toon is added that is higher or lower than that range, the IS drop rate is immediately reduced to 0% for the rest of the run.

What this is saying is that these runs will only get you IS items if you really run the instances... no being pulled along or pulling anyone else along for rewards.

Here's how I would run the numbers:

1. Hard Mode = base 75% @ level, 70% @ level +/-1, 65% @ level +/-2 ( party's average level so if running a 55 instance & you're right on 55, you'd be @ level.. if you're closer to 54 or 56, then you'd be @ +/- 1 level, etc... )
2. Normal Mode = base 50% @ level, 40% @ level +/- 1, 30% @ level +/- 2
3. Easy Mode = base 15% @ level, 10% @l evel +/- 1, 5% @ level +/- 2

Hard Mode is hard. simple fact. You run it @ level, you get really good chances of IS drops.
Normal Mode is hard-ish & gives a reason for people to run it now.
Easy Mode is farming mode, so least challenging = less chance for IS drops.

Luck Pots & Rogues should be able to increase chances too.

Basically, I'm asking GF/RW to make every aspect of the Instancing exciting again & to promote their Item Shoppe.

The other thing I'm hoping for is for people that start new toons to take the time to play the lower levels again. Play and enjoy the game & not rush to "end-game" so fast w/ power leveling.

Mysterious bags should have them as well.
100 people spending $10 is more profit than 5 spending $100.

Too exploitable. People would make twink gear for those toons allowing them to walk all over the instance w/o any challenge. HoS/ZS/DL/DoD/WA/KS come to mind when I think of walks in the park.

What Cloak said and what Matron said. I have gathered for the last 8 months of doing TH :

3500 megaphones
900 golden repair hammers
3800 home sweet homes
4200 transport runes
640 advance aggregator
600 50% TP pots
1450 convenient mailboxes
5500 marking ink lol
between 1 to 12 ancient treasure keys per day to open the big chests
about 80 strange crystal per run that gives another 4 keys

plus add to that the new tempest heights gear, i got from the special mats you get there too.

Also add mirror world into the mix as you can get free big angel sighs, phoenix, golden eggs, luck potions etc although i would hope they would add more to that shop to spend our points. :gamer:

How many additional ancient treasure keys that you had to buy did you have to use for that output?

He's bought thousands of those keys.. So all the items he claims he's gotten "free" from tempest heights is inaccurate!

Just going by the numbers he posted thats already ~4000 (assuming average of 4 of his "1 to 12 per run" direct key drops) keys he got for free to open the chests that are keyed, and that's before buying additional ones to open more chests. While the listed rewards (thats without the rune drops which are if you do the comparison, massive diamond savers) are already easily worth over 40.000 diamonds. We're talking about a duration of 8 months after all.

Plus the mirror world stuff from the npc is literally free and not even listed, the rewards easily outweigh even a couple of resets via diamonds IF you need the items. If not you just dont do paid resets and still get lots of IS items from it.

Yes i did buy keys with diamonds, but also got them from the anniversary event, P-tokens since i never buy anything from the P-shop and uses them for keys to open said chests etc. But the point is that there is already a way to get a lot of free items in game and plus add the events to get said items too.

I do TH mostly for the X runes and almost have all Judge X, Sage X, Destruction X on all my mage gear for FREE!!!! cost to make a Judge X from the item shop at regular price 9000 diamonds for a Sage X 4500 diamonds.

So to make all those runes you would have to spend 252 000 diamonds to make 16 of each of those for all your gear. Even at 30% less on the runes, even at 100% more diamonds sales etc, it would cost 88 200 diamonds.

Also i have sold Judge X for 300M to 400M and that buys you quite a lot of keys and especially, when i have great people selling said diamonds at 50K per, plus i buy my own from time to time. I haven't bought thousands of keys, just don't make assumptions.

I run TH because it is fun and gets people FREE items that they can use to better themselves and test stuff for their DPS and improvement.

Don't hate the player and just keep hating the game and how it is expensive etc, it's all good for me.

I'm with Zid since I'm in Disturbed also. I want to argue with every idea people have that might get old players to return and new players to stay.. With my job and the Tempest Heights limited to 2pm and 10pm eastern I can only run TH on Saturday and Sunday...

I was thinking about the point made out before re: twink gear.

The concept I'm about to bring up is pretty much ripped from a Chinese novel about e-sports.

In order to get the chance for IS drops in instances, the party must accept a FIXED FIELD request from an npc by the entrance. ( kinda like RT's choices for difficulty )

In a FIXED FIELD request, all players in the instance are debuffed with a FIXED FIELD marker.

Each instance will have MAX buff values for stats. Under the FIXED FIELD debuff, all of the stats/runes that exceed the MAX buff values will be reduced to the MAX buff values.

The FIXED FIELD debuff will remain while there is at least 1 person still in the instance. After leaving the party, the FIXED FIELD debuff goes away. New players joining a FIXED FIELD party will receive the FIXED FIELD debuff.

Basically "mentor" your level and gear down? Maybe be able to get xp/tp also

Yeah... that's the idea. & you have to be @ level to get a chance for IS drops, so you'd be getting XP/TP anyway.

Basically, there would be a max buff point from your gear per instance. The nice thing is that it's a cap & wouldn't penalize you, so it's in your interest to have the best gear you can get.

ie for a lvl 50 instance, you come in w/ green X's & you're not going to cap out, but if you have all the latest & greatest orange stats, those stats will be capped @ max point values for that lvl 50 instance. ( probably 50 or so )

all of which are more or less worthless relative to the larger dia sinks (gear enhancement).

@OP: too many ways this can be abused or turn into a grind.
