This is to help anyone who has no clue what there doing XD.

Downloading:
First you need to download the setup file.

WinRar/Peazip:
While that is downloading you need Winrar or a program similar to extract everything. Peazip is free and more user friendly than winrar so you mite want to go with that. Ive got winrar paid for so to late for me XD.

Extracting:
How to extract files with WinRAR

Method 1: (The Quickest Method)
Right click on the file you want to open. Once you get your menu, you have three different options to use for extracting your file.

Option A:
Clicking Extract files Clicking Extract files allows you to specify the extraction folder and then extract files into the existing folder, overwrite the existing files in the existing folder, only add the new files in your compressed file to the existing folder or overwrite the existing files in the folder you are extracting to.

Option B:
Clicking Extract here Clicking Extract here allows you to quickly extract all of the files to the current folder where your compressed file is located in one click. This is a very quick METHOD of extraction.

Option C:
Extract to [YourFolderName] Clicking Extract to [YourFolderName] will automatically create and extract all of your files to the folder name specified. This is also a very quick method of extraction. Again, if the folder does not exist, it will be created. If the folder already exists, the files will be extracted to the folder and the files inside of the folder will be overwritten.

Method 2:
Open WinRar. Select File / Open Archive from the main menu. Navigate to the file in the folder that you want to extract and press Open. When the file opens in WinRar, you can see all of the files in the archive at once. You can then select the ones you want to extract from the archive and press the Extract To button. Pressing the Extract To button will display a menu that allows you to select parameters for your file like where the files should be extracted. After selecting your parameters, you can press OK to extract your files.

Method 3:
If you need to, you can open an archive file by running WinRar from a command line with the archive name as the sole parameter. This will open the archive in WinRar and you can then use METHOD 2 to extract the file. During the actual extraction with all of the methods a window will be displayed that shows you the statistics of your extract. Those statistics include things like how many files have been extracted, etc. The system works so fast, however, that you often won't even have enough time to read this screen. It is, however, very useful to let you know what is going on if you are unpacking a very large file. You can also press the Cancel button on this screen to stop the extraction process.

What happens if you get stuck and you don't know what to do? WinRar has an answer for that too in the form of a great help system that is accessible from the WinRar main menu by pressing Help. WinRar allows you to open RAR, ZIP, 7Z, ACE, ARJ, BZ2, CAB, GZ, ISO, JAR, LZH, TAR, UUE, and Z files created by other tools so WinRar is really your one stop shop for extracting and unpacking your files

Installing:
Open up the application file (should be called RoM-setup or something to that nature.)

Let the game install automatically. It will run through the patches (there will probably be a few of them). Check the announcements page for the latest patch. You can check your status at the top-right of the client window.

Every patch looks like its stuck at 10%. Trust me its not. Just give it some time.

!!! If you have problems with patching use this as a last resort. ONLY if you have problems with it patching automatically. !!!

ok ive been trying to get this to work for a while. i clicked game gravity, then download once there.
says in a box that pops up " what would you like to open Runes_of_Magic_open_beta.rar and gives me a list of options to open it with. which do i choose?

next question
i chose peazip, which download button do i press. i have windows vista.
edit:
nm i got it to download after i clicked peazip first button and used it to open the file.

how long is the download from gamegravity supposed to take?
mines at 5 hours now so..... yeah takin kinda a long time. is it normal? i reallly want to play game. ive tried so many things. even emailed for help, so i hope it works ty for ur guide

It differs for people. mine took around 5 hours as well but i patched up from closed beta client. I used gamershell.

If you dont want to wait you mite try some other download links to see if any are a bit faster.

other than that this is a pretty big game and if you dont have fast internet its a long wait.

hey u might want to add a section on how to extract files with peazip, or is it the same? Got 5 min left til i finish download.

hey im having trouble extracting the files out of my rom folder. i downloaded the client and peazip. when i try to extract, using peazip, it starts but then fails. should i try using winrar and is it necessary to extract files. what does that even mean? i clicked extract on peazip and it didnt work so.... yeah
Hope theres something im just not doing riight or something. good guide by the way

Grrrr

ok i now downloading the game for the 3rd time in 24 hours!!!! Every time i open up the WinRAR file it says error transmition unexpected end or something like that. I extract the files anyway but all i getting is a folder which i open but it wont let me install the game. :mad:

really getting annoyed now, i want to play

it mite be your anitvirus corrupting the setup file.

try uninstalling winrar. and reinstalling it.

I am getting the same problem he is, and I have tried extracting the file with peazip AND winrar, not to mention my computer had some problems after downloading that file. So I'm thinking there must be something wrong with it, and I'm really hoping there isn't a virus in it as well...
