Client Load Fail? Please Help!

When I try to run the game from the client load up or the actual load up screen, I would get an error when trying to run the game saying: "The procedure entry point _AIL_calculate_3D_channel_levels@64 could not be located in the dynamic link library mss32.dll." I tried to replace it with another one i downloaded from a dll website, but no luck, it happened again. I still have a copy of the old .dll file just in case. Can anyone help me with this problem?

I don't recall ever seeing an error message like that one. Can you tell me precisely what you're trying to run the game on? OS, specifically, and/or if you're trying to run the game in a virtual box. And, in any event, please post a dxdiag so we can take a look at your hardware and driver setup. Use the link in my sig if you're not sure how to do a dxdiag.

If you're running Windows virtualized, it might be difficult to get RoM to install and run properly. That's why I asked about the OS and your setup.

Im not such a computer freak, so im not quite sure when you mean, what specificaly are you running on. Will my dxdiag help? Does it cover everything? But I mean, my computer can run a game with Ultra detail settings on and not lag a single bit! What are the chances it can't run this amazing looking game!

I hope i will be able to play it, I am going to uninstall and reinstall it, to see if there was an error with patching.

If I remember correctly there was an error with the boxed version of RoM.

I suggest you just download the latest client (I don't remember the link) but it is only a few patches behind.

I have to agree.
uninstall and reinstall might correct the issue.
might have had a corrupted install.
Also make sure you up date your operating system often.

I also run Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit), but don't have that .dll file on my system. And to the best of my knowledge, Java isn't required in order to run RoM.

What I think is that somewhere along the line, you've managed to pick up some file corruption while patching/updating the game. The boxed version of RoM contains rather old installation files, and the more updating that needs to be done, the greater the chance of corrupting your installation.

What I'd recommend for you is to go here: http://forum.us.runesofmagic.com/showthread.php?t=66641 These are lists of direct installation file downloads from our file server. They are currently the newest installlation files available and will result in the fewest number of updates that will need to be installed. Using those file links will avoid your having to use the FOG downloader.

WAIT! I think i know the reason why it does this! I think it's from when i was updating automatically, i wanted to use manual, so i used manual, but accidently used the highest patch when it was at 3.0.something. And i used the 4.0.6 and i think it didn't patch right.
