mrmisterwaa, can you explain why i played games that ask more requirements without problems? (for example Need for speed Pro street and Sims 3). Also trav said that guilidies with awesome computers have the same problem. Moreover, can you explain why my game works exactly in the same way with high that with low graphics? i think that if this were a problem of my notebook, the game should works better with low graphics and this is not so. My notebook has the enough requeriments to play RoM well at least with low graphics.
Sometimes i have lagg problems too, but only sometimes. The FPS problem is always, sometimes to a greater extent and sometimes to a lesser extent. Greater: between 0 and 5fps Lesser: between 5 and 10fps.

I have played RoM with a laptop that doesn't even meet the minimum requirements and my FPS was like 15.

What most people don't realise is that a majority of your computer might be great but there might one part that could be causing the entire mess.

I have played around with my motherboard so many times by over-clocking & under-clocking only to realise that RoM works best if it is not over-clocked and is on a stable computer.

Running in 19XX by 1XXX resolution can greatly decrease your fps as well, having applications that shouldn't be running in the background can push your fps down to 5 if you are not careful.

Most people don't know how to optimise their computers and most people who do, don't do it the right way.

Ok mrmisterwaa, but i tried all of things and the game works EXACTLY in the same way, regardless the graphics quality that i use or the resolution or the the process that i close. It's all the same. You told that you played in a laptop that doesn't even meet the minimum requirements and you achieved that the game works well. However my notebook have more of minimum requirements and the game works in the worst way. I don't ask 30+ fps, i'm happy with just between 15 and 20fps. Then, what would you recommend i do?

i had an issue with my cable internet a while back, was gettin intermittent connection. caused my ping to skyrocket and fps to drop to nothing. it was a short enough loss of connection that the game stayed logged on but caused seroius issues. come to find out in my area it is common, espeically with weather changes for it to happen. something about a filter that needs changed on the poles from time to time that are sensitive to temp. anyhow long story short after getting that sorted out with cox, and then doing some more tests i found my router to be faulty. maybe from my net problems, maybe just from age, it was a 10 yr old router. bought a new one and things have been much improved. its worth looking into as cheap as they are these days. check your modem, ur connections, use only high quality cables for your connections etc etc. i can only imagine what mr. is gonna shoot back with. he is correct about being able to run this on less than min requirements but u need to adapt to timing ur actions with the lag. it takes, eh some skill.

Actually trav42073, you are misunderstanding what ping is then.

If you have 100ms ping to the server, that is 100 milliseconds (0.1 seconds) delay to the server.

When it comes to MMO games, the delay is not even noticeable.

no i understand, when my ping spiked to 200kms i knew that meant 200k milliseconds. and u are correct, a ping of 100ms is not noticeable. im just saying, i noticed an abnormal delay in my toons actions and my ping spiking.

we will just agree to disagree you and i. same as me and vwiffo, no matter the subject.

There is nothing to agree or disagree about. >.>

Fact: I live 7000+ miles from the server and I use 3G internet to connect to the server. I have never experienced 200k ping, EVER.

If you are experiencing lag to that degree, you need to call your ISP or you need to make sure if you are on wireless consider switching to LAN cables instead of using wireless.

Excuse me, I missed that final sentence.

So are you saying that problem is fixed now?

yes that is what i am saying. had i had no luck resolving my own fps/ping issues why would i try to help someone else resolve theirs? even with the server move, my ping has increased and my fps has dropped some, game is still playable to me. but this is not my thread and these are not my current issues. im just trying to lend a hand to a fellow of the community, much like yourself. and seeing as how u are in kuwait, and i am aware of where that is are u serving there or are you a citizen of kuwait?

I just noticed that when my fps are critically low appear in the interface errors a message that says: "call RoccatMouseLightFrame's OnEvent, line: [string '?']:56: attempt to compare number with nil". What does this mean?

The game is poorly coded but the biggest problems I see here are;

Low spec computer with a slow cpu first up.

Next it comes down to running Windows 7 64 bit with 2 gig of ram. 2 gig of ram may be enough to get Windows up & running but there is no ram left to run programs so it comes down to thrashing your slow hard drive which is pretending to be the ram you don't have.

Doubling your ram to 4 gig would help somewhat with a more stable fps but your fps would still be low.

The other computer you mentioned with 1 gig of ram & 512 meg video card that runs the game better... It's a safe bet that computer is running 32 bit windows. Windows xp?

I don't see the connection between fps (your end) & ping (data travel time between client & server).

Saddly, I don't see any real way to improve the gameplay much.

I think the posted minimum & recommended gameplay specs are set to low & should be changed.

Thats not the issue in my case. I have a 8-core processor, 16 gigs of ram and a geforce 580 gtx. Along with a WD Velociraptor SATA 6.0gbps 300Gb OS drive.

253MB for video card is just a bit above minimum to run RoM. Only option for you is to lower graphics settings, disable water effects as well other people effects. There was good post on how to improve FPS with settings inside video card to be changed, but I can't remember where it was.

Too add to your problem, your processor is as old as your video card.

Good luck getting it to work good enough.

Likely you're using another addon that hasn't been updated, or has been abandoned by its author. You may have to unload all of your addons, then readd them, one by one, until the error message pops up again.

Did you try new version??

Thursday, March 15th 2012, 11:17am

Yeah, I tried many versions. Im going to do some work after servers are back up with the 4.0.9 patch, and remove all my addons, then install 1 by one and get down and gritty to find where the bugs with the FPS are coming from.
