Can someone PLEASE help me ??? Tried everything!

I know people DC in this game..but this is getting just ridiculous..i've DC'ed 6-8 time tonight and seems like I cannot do anything without a critical error showing up. Tried turning graphics down, but I don't lag at all even during siege, and my FPS are usually from 25-80 depending, so it's not a lag issue.

PLEASE
check my DX log and tell me if it is me...or if it is the server/game?? Or if i need to change some setttings??? If it's my puter I need to get it checked out cause this is making me nuts lol.
Thanks in advance!

To put it simply, its not your rig at all. This game is just coded by monkeys, reviewed by cavemen then released by cats content to just roll around in what money we fork over.

IOW: Expect to crash a lot, expect to DC a lot and expect nothing to be done about it.

Also, why the crap are you playing RoM with such a sweat rig? That's a pro gaming rig, why waste it on this game?

truthfully, it is your computer. Your computer runs faster than the game engine can handle, so the game crashes alot beacuse of it. The only thing I can recommend is to refer to the previous post.

Well ... kind of? >.>

OP,

Certain things can be done to increase fps and reduce the amount of crashing.

Don't forget that whenever you teleport from the new zone to a zone like Varanas, expect to crash.

If you crash when you are a lone in a zone that you never leave for hours then it is a serious problem.

Pazzuzu posted a guide on the forums about how to reduce crashing/increase fps by doing a few changes to your graphics card settings and in-game graphic settings.

Thanks for the info.. I am laughing though cause of the comment it runs faster then the game lol I built this rig because my other one lagged so bad in weeping coast I could not play and was unable to play the new PC games coming out. I wanted to play any game without a speck of lag on my end..ah well, i guess i have to live with the crashing from porting , mailboxes and going home. man, a mailbox takes my beast out...sad.

If you are crashing when you use the mail box it is most likely a problem with an add-on.

I'm having same problems as OP, with constant lag and disconnections. I've just returned to RoM, and have been getting disconnected every 10-30 mins, with lag spikes constantly during that period.

I can go play swtor with no lag no dc's, I can go play dc universe no lag no dc's. I can use youtube, streaming radio etc with no problem. I hop on RoM and start at 100ms ping, play for five mins then BOOM 15k ping and a disconnect a couple minutes later. Over and over and over. Have reset my modem numerous times, rebooted, run in compatibility mode, run with zero addon's, sacrificed a baby goat to the internet gods, and nothing has helped.

FPS has remained steady around 30-40 with everything on max, just the network portion giving me problems.

yup, today in SW I got DC'ed twice and that last time I was DC'ed I almost was unable to get back into SW because I got stuck at loading screen going in. I still DC when I port, anything with a loading screen will do this. SOOO fustrating, and yeah, i can play anything so far on high graphics without even a hiccup, even ROM...Ping around 95-100 with FPS that can hit even 80....and I DC ,critical error when I port. I am just glad it's not my comp..what a bummer that would be lol

Honestly, it doesn't matter how awesome your computer is because it's not a problem on the player's end most of the time. It's the game, with it's memory leaks and the unnecessary rendering of backsides and insides and undersides that aren't even visible/accessible to players.

I personally play with Shadows and Sky on lowest and every thing else about medium except for distance, which is always farthest it can be in any game I play. Some days I don't crash more than once or twice- normally in spots I already identify and expect to crash in like Dalanis. Other days I crash frequently in areas I have never had trouble in before. But turning down settings will slow your crashing rate, in my experience.

Also- When the News a couple months ago mentioned the 'Alternative Download Client', I uninstalled my original install of RoM that I downloaded because it was the 'Full' and had taken hours to download and then more hours to do all the patches/rewrites from over a year or whatever. In my opinion a fresh install would be cleaner, more stable. It has indeed helped, though I went with the 'Slim' version this time. :) I still crash on occasion but it does seem smoother and was completely installed & patched in under 1 hr. FAR cry from the normal download. I recommend uninstalling and reinstalling 'clean' from the alternative client link rather than from the normal Download section.
Just remember BEFORE uninstalling to move the Interface>Addons folder to a different area of your computer so you can save all your addon settings. (if you use addons)
You can move it back into the Runes of Magic folder after the reinstall. :)

Ok I see that most of the people posting here are not truly giving you waht you asked for. HELP. I do not blame them the game is not really coded well and is full of bugs. But even buggy and glitchy we still love it.
Here are some suggestions that I personaly reccomend and use:

1 First thing you want to do is use Disccleanup which is within your accessories/system tools folder. This will get rid of any junk files present and give the next few things I suggest some breathing room.

3 Next useing a good spyware/malware removal program check for both. I use spybot search and destroy and AVG's built in malware detector.

4 Run your antivirus program. Doesn't matter what one you have as long as it is up to date.

5 Next run Defragment your hard drive. This is important. Now I recommend Auslogic's defragmentating program, it is free and does a much better job than the built in one that windows have.

After all that check to see if it helped out with your problem. When there is a new patch I ALWAYS do all the above.
One last thing to look at is to check and see if ALL your drivers are up to date in your rig. It doesn't matter how new the computer is if the drivers are not up to date. Most of the drivers sent with components are out of date even before they reach the enduser (us). So always do a check monthly if not weekly for new drivers. Hope this helps even a little buit and happy gaming.
