Sound Problems

Since I downloaded the slim client, my in-game sound has been way down. Even if I turn the sound on the game up to max and my computer's sound to max, I can just barely hear the music and the sound effects. I'd rather not re-install the client, but at this point I'm all out of ideas.

Any help would be great. :D

Yeah same thing has happened to me but I downloaded the full client with that hub that I use with my Guild for Teamspeak.

Hello ElvenScribe,

Do your headphones/speakers have a volume option? I tend to forget to turn mine up... otherwise I would suggest it might be a driver issue.

No - and my sound was fine with the full client until I downloaded the slim.

Since it's most likely a driver issue, would I need to re-install the client or is there a hotfix I can apply? Thanks for the quick response!

That would be nice that whole file is rather too big takes me at least half a day to download and install(not counting the countless hrs for it to update).

I have been having several issues with sound lately. Spells not sounding at all, getting random sounds as if something is going into my inventory when I am just walking around doing nothing. Horses neigh out of no where... Yeah I bet I just have some corrupted files but there is no way I am going to reinstall the entire game... They really need to implement a fix tool that will check and repair corrupted files so that we don't have to spend half a day reinstalling the client and then updating it, just for a couple erroneous files.

If you use teamspeak, go to settings>plugins, and there should be a 'volume' check box in there. It's a plug in that allows teamspeak to lower game or music volume whenever someone talks. It seems to have a very low trigger so even background hiss will keep game volume turned down. You get rare periods of actual silence on TS and that lets game volume creep back up for a second or so.

Check the mixer settings for the computer and make sure game volume is turned up there.

My problem was just the sound mixer being on low.

Found the problem - RoM's volume in my volume mixer was on 0, so I guess Teamspeak did something to it. I now have my sound back.

Thanks, refugee. :)
