Won't recognize my password

I'm able to log into this forum because it autofills that field, but I had forgotten the actual password, so I changed it both on the Frogster site and on these forums, having the new password e-mailed both times (or however often it e-mails) and trying to use the new password to log in both times, but no matter what it will not accept it. Just now when I tried to log into the support site it said:

"The username or password that you entered is incorrect or your account has been disabled."

If this is the case, please re-enable my account, as I would like to play a bit before I run out of free time. If possible please e-mail a new temporary password to the e-mail account associated with my game account when the issue is resolved. Thank you for any assistance.

Edit: I should mention that I tried editing the file mentioned here :http://forum.us.runesofmagic.com/showthread.php?t=9520 but that it was correct as is, so that was not needed.

Edit 2: Sigh. I went here: http://support.frogster-online.com/app/a…155/kw/password and followed the instructions. Apparently for whatever reason my account wasn't registered. So I did so. But now when I try to log in here: https://account.frogster-online.com/Login/ it says:

"Login Error!

Login or Password unknown!"

Patience exhausted. I'll just have to check back later and hope someone has fixed whatever is preventing me from changing my password. Thank you again.

I got an e-mail saying that my forum password had been reset, which struck me as odd because as I've demonstrated, I can use the forum just fine. Nevertheless, I tried using the new password to log in to the game, in case the password was the same for both, but it still won't work. While I appreciate the effort put forward to help me, I think my account must have been disabled or something. Does that happen when it isn't used in a long time? I'll check back tomorrow and if it's still not working I'll dig around for how to submit a ticket.

Once again, thank you for your time, unless the account reset was part of a delay caused by the system maintenance yesterday. Kind regards.

OK, hopefully Kalvan will see this thread soon and say something brilliant.

My input is just wait and check your email for the password change verification email. It can take up to 24 hours for the change to be completed, if I recall correctly, so be somewhat patient if you can.

You are using the email address that you registered the account under, yes?

If you still have this issue in 24 hours, please put in a Support ticket using "Contact Support" link in my signature, unless Kalvan sees this and instantly realizes what the issue is. Cause he's a genius like that. :)

Also remember that you must create a Support account before you can use the portal.

In my experience password changes can take an awfully long time. Not much else but to exercise patience.

Anyone notice here that the OP is on the US forum but trying to access the EU account management page?

Try here: https://account.frogster-america.com/

You will be able to reset your passwords there - and make sure your client is set fr the US servers and not the EU servers by clicking the Region button on the launcher.

Not that I'm omniscient or likely to be saying anything "brilliant" (hi, Dellenn!), but Inferiority is correct, as is the link he provided. That's the one which Commotis needs to use if he wishes to change either his forum or game password.

One caveat for either is that it can take anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour for a newly-changed password to become effective.

Ok Kalvan don't sell yourself short. Your help is always spot on and very much appreciated.
Now for the OP: make sure you do not use the same password for your forum account and your game account. This is for your safety.

Hey thanks so much for so many replies! Seriously! I had decided to try another game while I waited and got into it but I really do like this game so I checked back. Haha, using the wrong site is probably why I couldn't get it to work! I'll check that now. I can't remember where I got that URL but ah well. Thanks again. =] Hopefully my friend who is downloading the game now can get into it too. There's not as many players as I'd prefer but I still enjoy the game a lot.

Another thing worth checking is the region setting on the launcher.

I sometimes get to the login screen & find my password is not accepted after i've switched regions to get faster patch updates & then forgotten to switch back.

Hmm. Well, now I can't get the client to start. This is weird because it was working when I first made this topic. The files were in an external hard drive, and even after copying them to C in case that mattered, it didn't work. So I downloaded the game again after deleting all of the files, and yes, the game version is the US version, however once I finished the ROMSetup application wouldn't work. The folder in the location I specified was looking kinda sparse so i downloaded yet again in case there was an error, but got the same problem. No, this is not the directX problem that everyone posts about but doesn't search the forum for, or at least it's not saying that infamous error.

This is what I get. I'll try reinstalling DirectX anyway just in case, and if that doesn't help I'll submit a ticket tomorrow to give any charitable people time to respond. Thanks again.

PS: It may be because I deleted the files myself and didn't officially uninstall them. I dunno, I'm not particularly savvy with computers.
