Runes of Magic US / AU

One of my toons can no longer move. Before you tell me to do a stuck report, no, I am not stuck . The problem is not that my character moves, but goes nowhere. Rather, there is no response whatsoever when I left-click somewhere or press the arrow keys. Even when I rotate the screen, my character doesn't rotate with it. My toon just stands in the same place, staring in the same direction. No movement whatsoever. I have checked my key bindings and they are all on default. What's more, I have another toon that moves perfectly fine, so it is only this one toon that for some reason cannot move.

In fact, the toon that is suffering these movement issues can basically do everything else. I am able to teleport to different places, interact with things such as mailboxes and npcs, even get on my mount (although not move on it). Before this happened, I was simply afk while merit farming in siege and then for a few minutes next to the guy that gives the butterfly daily in xaviera. When I came back, my toon could no longer move. Has anyone ever had this happen before and know a solution. I would like to be able to do more than stand in place .

Tried swapping gears and changing classes. Didn't work . Has this happened to you before?

You (or someone else) must have changed interface hotkeys settings for that toon - or it even can get corrupted whole file.

As suggested before, delete profile file in Runes of Magic directory under your documents folder in windows. (It might be hidden - to enable to view it in my computer windows, click alt (to view menu if not showed), go to Tools >> Folder Options >> View (tab) >> Under Hidden Files and folder select 'Show Hidden Files, Folders and Drives'.

While you do this, make sure you don't have RoM client running. Start client and load character, let us know if you still have problems moving your character.

Aw shoot. I did what you said but no folder with my toon's name is showing up. I realized that I still had client running while I was doing this though since I was trying some of the other stuff that people suggested. Now I can't get the hidden file to show up anywhere, at least I didn't find it. Was it because I had my client still running and is there a way I can still get it to show up?

BTW: Thanks everyone for the suggestions. Opening up a chat window didn't help, neither did switching gears.

Yes, I have tried relogging, even restarting my computer. lol.

The problem is not that I'm stuck in a stance, and I can still cast all of my skills and engage in combat. I even dueled someone and won. I can basically do everything in game other than move, if that helps.

Aw man. I figured out what Romage was saying and found the folder in my documents (I was looking in my C drive program files before), and deleted it. I just logged on though and my character is still unable to move. All the hotkeys and everything were gone so I know that deleting the folder worked, but it didn't fix the movement problem.

Also tried disabling addons but that didn't help either. This blows.

Usually once I have problem with add-ons, I would completely delete everything in RoM folder, start one client and setup the way I wanted it, then log out to save new settings and log in with other clients.

One more question - when you hit Esc in game, then select Interface Settings, is box 'Server Save' (or something like that) checked??

Yes this is only on one character. I have a character on the Artemis server which works perfectly fine. I have another character on the Osha server which can do everything other than move. I tried reinstalling the client yesterday but this did not fix my problem. Server save is not checked.

I'm not sure that this is an add-on problem since I already deleted all of my addons and the movement issue is still occurring. I will try what you said though. When you say "delete everything in RoM folder", you mean the one in my documents right? After that, just start the client again?

Yes, shut down client, delete everything from Runes of Magic folder under document folder, and start client again.

This will reset all your add-ons and remove any customization to screen/game you did.

I did this last night, after I added scrutinizer all my add-ons went crazy on screen. Hate when that happens, and I was too lazy to save that config file before.

Don't forget, once you start client, set one character the way you like it, exit game. This will recreate all needed files, and that client will be template for other game accounts/characters.

Didn't work. My guess is now that it's something in game. I just don't know what could have happened when I was sitting afk merit farming in siege that could have caused this.
