Game Keeps Minimizing On It's Own o.O

After a long hiatus from the game, I decided to return to see what's new etc. I had some problems logging in seeing as there was a change to the password system, but that seems to be resolved.

The problem I'm having now is that the game itself keeps minimizing on it's own. I was able to get into the game ONCE, but since I was forced to change monitors the game screen is now too big. So I tried to change the resolution of the game. However, in doing that, the game window was far too small since I was wanting to play in windowed mode, and there's no way to manually resize the screen.

I changed the settings to full screen, but every time I try to play, the game keeps minimizing to the task bar on it's own..the game window just won't stay open. I tried going back to my original settings, but the same thing keeps happening.

I have no idea why it's doing this. I tested other games I have, and I have no problems playing in windowed mode, and they stay open, so why is RoM acting so weird? o.o

If anyone can help me resolve this issue so I'm able to play, that would be great. And I'd really prefer to play in windowed mode, but it makes the game so small..why can't we manually resize the screen?

Thanks in advance.

Can you get to loading screen?

If not, reset settings in patcher - click config and edit settings.

Hi RoMage, thanks so much for the quick reply :)

I wasn't able to get anywhere..I would load the game and get to the TOU screen and it would just minimize.

However, I did a little test. At the time I had my internet browser open; I closed my browser and the game loaded fine, no problems at all o.O

I have no idea why having a browser open would affect it, it has no effect on any other game I've played. Although my problem seems to have been resolved, I'd still love to know why that would mess with RoM.

Any ideas?

Do you use Win7? I seem to remember from the mists of time something about notifications or something...

That isn't the one I was thinking off though - but something must be grabbing focus from your game somehow. Apparently the browser, though I dunno why.

Also as RoMage says, you acn alter the size of your windowed mode through the launcher - that should solve that problem.

I'd really prefer to play in windowed mode, but it makes the game so small..why can't we manually resize the screen?

Drag the title bar to where you want it & resize by grabbing the lower-right window border and dragging.

Alternatively, just click the maximize window button.

I play windowed all the time and drag the window all over the place, resizing as needed whenever I'm doing 5 other things too.

If using windowed mode in Win7, you have to be careful as Win7 will try to figure out do you like to move screen to corner or maximize/minimize. Clicking bottom right corner tile (next to timer and other icons) will return all windows back. (toggles desktop view)

The social media container social hub is basically a browser in a different skin. If you have a browser open windows will show two browers being open and will use its "intelligent" switching when any site does an auto update, so when the social hub pulls facebook info, the system thinks that you want to visit facebook and gives the focus to the browser that is open.
