I just got this strange auto-update when start my ROM launcher, some Chinese texts, so I cancel ignore it and play the game anyway.

But when I got to the log in screen, I cannot sign in, it says

"Your version is different from the server, please update your version" O_O

Does anyone know how i can manually update ROM instead of depending on the launcher to auto-update?

Any game patches must be applied to play & the launcher downloads these automatically & updates the game.

The "Chinese texts" you see will likely be because Runewaker, the game developer, are a Taiwan-based company.

Same here. This morning the update popped up moving from 5.0.3.2575 to 5.0.3.2579. That patch did not work properly, as described by OP and now the game is at 2579 and won't let me log. Hmmm...

Now works. It is a tiny small patch. Chrisalia problems, perhaps?

When we needed patch to fix sys name, we had to wait for a week, but now we have patch just before weekend without any notice and patch notes.

What is going on?

Yea my update bugged out on me, i needed a fresh install anyways, I still had the funky ground graphics. So a clean install should do a bit of good.

The problem is these patches always happen when the server is offline so no one has their client open and since your client was open probably to an alt it tried to patch over the client but it wouldn't let it.

Confused me for a minute too by what ??????? Windows ??????????? meant, but it made a lot more sense after I closed my alt and repatched.

Yrcanos has finally updated the EU thread for manual updates & included the mirrors I gave him.

It's the same patch files as for the US client so you don't need to worry about any config issues.

client version 5.03.2579.en different than server?

I tried logging in this morning and was greeting with a short patch that brought me to version 5.03.2579.en. Now when I try to log in it tells me that my client version is different than the server. I see no patch info in the forum. What can I do to fix this?

I have the same problem. It tells me i have version 5.0.3.2579en also, and I'm getting the same message. Please help, I would like to play today.

ok, 2 hours without reply, time to delete the game and start a new download. And today I had the day off, had hoped to play........

now can't login WTH

I was in game doing KBN easy, go out for lunch and leave game, come back, update comes on and then when i enter my password it says you have the wrong version, please update WTF???

ok so if you didn't update this morning your client and was still logged in, opened a new client to get on another account, it will try to update that one and then will say you have the wrong version. Log off the client that was still running and boom, you have to update your version and you are screwed. Come on guys, take server down, do update, and then this will not happen. Another great idea from a tech who doesn'T know what he is doing, sad sad.

Now will have to remove and freaking re-install it all, TYVM for nothing.

The information I've been given regarding this morning's patch is that it was a group of unspecified technical fixes that didn't require server shutdowns. The patch was unrelated to game content. That's all I know about it.

Now, if you had a game client running (for whatever reason) when the patch became available and then started up a second client, the client would automatically download and install the patch. This might make it impossible to log in, even if you shut down the original client and attempt to relog.

You should not have to redownload or reinstall the game, but you would probably need to manually install the patch (http://download.frogster-online.com/patc…0.3.2579.en.exe). You can go to the EU website to get the patch, or go to Tigsman's list--which I continue to update--that can be found here: http://forum.us.runesofmagic.com/showthread.php?t=31461

Follow the instructions on how to install the patch and you should be good to go.
