Unable to connect to server

I can not connect to the server. All I have been getting is "connecting to game server".

Anyone have any idea?

Update: I can now get to the Character Screen - But I can not log into any of my characters.

Hi there~

Can you tell us which server you are having difficulties with?
Is this happening on other servers for the same account, or only one specific server?
Are you receiving any specific error messages at all?

It may be your preferences files- you could try removing them.
As for the login problem, it could be corrupt client data.
This sometimes happens after a crash, and is easy to fix.
1.) I would like you to try to clear your preferences file for your character.


- Open the Runes of Magic/Frogster folder in your personal documents

- Select the folder of the character that this issue exists with and delete it (this will reset the interface settings for your character)

The folder may not be listed because it is set to "Hidden". If this is the case, you can display it by following the instructions below:

1. Select the Tools menu and select “Folder Settings”.
2. After the new window appears, select the “View” tab.
3. Put a checkmark in the checkbox labeled “Display the contents of system folders”.
4. Under the “Hidden files and folders” section, select the radio button labeled “Show hidden files and folders”.

Additionally, it could be your character crashed in a spot that the server is not recognizing.
In that case, it just will not log in.
If removing the files does not help, I can move your characters to a quiet location somewhere else in Taborea.
Send me a support ticket in that case, and I will help you with that!

After the "fix" today I was able to log in - on the Artemis server. I was playing for a period of time and all of a sudden I was unable to do anything. While my character was able to move around, none of the things I was doing affected anything.

So I reset and I was unable to log in. This happens of other servers as well.

I am not receive any specific error message at all.

- I had done a completely clean download and install - it did not work.
- I have cleared my preferences - nothing changed.

I do not have a firewall. I do not have anything else on the system other than this game. I do not have a virus - I checked.

Nothing has changed.

Exact same thing.

Artemis. Playing in new zone Chrysalia , this afternoon.

However, that account is still able to connect to all other servers and play toons on those servers, but Artemis won't connect to that account.

Other alt accounts are able to connect to Artemis and play toons on Artemis.

It is just isolated to the one account that had an active toon logged in to that server/zone when that server/zone started malfunctioning, and I attempted the stardard 'fix' of a client-restart-relog, and now can not even connect that account to Artemis.

Hi there~

If clearing preferences does not help, please try logging into a different channel from the character selection screen (if you can get to it).
If this does not help, please submit a support ticket so that we can look at your account server-side.
Please include in the title or subject line the server you are having issues on (I am currently only seeing this happening on Artemis).
I am gathering those that this does not help, and we hope to have a fix for you soon!

Edit**please also include the zone you were last in, there may perhaps be an error with the zone.

I am unable to get to the selection screen. I am unable to get past the "connecting to game server". And this is only when I attempt to get to Artemis.

I was playing in the new zone - Chrysalia.

Yup, and now all of us that were in Artemis/Chrysalia this afternoon when that server/zone/channel malfunctioned will have to wait for support to figure out how to un-bug our accounts. They are currently spinning their wheels (all afternoon/evening) and getting nowhere.

Hey There :)

I am unable to log into the game as well. Let me go step by step through everything. (Don't ask me where I was when I logged out, I don't remember.)

1. Playing RoM Happily
2. Router randomly resets itself
3. I loose internet connection
4. Internet comes back up
5. Try to log into RoM and... I cannot get past the first login screen... no char selection, no nothing. (It does, however, let me know if my password is incorrect!)

I have checked the following:

1. I have internet (everything else works great.)
2. Firewall is off
3. Virus Protection is in "Gaming Mode"
4. Called my ISP; they say if I can access the internet, then i should be able to log into the game.
5. Re-Installed the Game... to no avail.
6. Reset char files as mentioned above... nada.
7. Tried randomly logging in... and OMG!!! It FINALLY let me in...

(two weeks later)

the only thing that had changed... **Gasp** was my IP address...
8. I then happily went back to playing RoM for another two weeks... then BAM!!!!!! It happens again

I really don't want to wait another two weeks before I can log into the game again. I have an inkling that the server or a setting is blocking a set of IP addresses, because when I re-set my IP address on my router the only thing I can get it to change is the last number, in the IP address, and RoM won't let me in. BTW, it does not matter which server I try to log into, so...

My husband in rl and in game, Calonderial, also sent in a helpdesk ticket.. but I don't want to wait forever. Please... if anyone can help, it would be awesomely appreciated.

P.S. BTW The last place my char was... was on the govinda server, doing dailies in the new zone... i think. The first place my char was... when this happened the first time, was next to the butterfly dailies in Xavaria. Hrmmm.....

::EDIT:: Upon looking over some other posts in older portions of the forums, I can ping 206.253.173.44 with no packet loss... if that helps.
