Can't see people, can only see names in game.

Have had a problem in the last 1-2 weeks where only names of characters show on my screen, this occurs in SW, instances and also out of instances. I've had to turn 'Show Health Bars' on, in order to be able to heal. Sometimes restarting my computer helps but this doesn't last longer than 1/2 hr before characters disappear again. Have un/reinstalled RoM to see if it'll help but it hasn't. Defrag/Registry clean once a day, drivers are all up to date as far as I know. Would appreciate some advice on how to fix being able to view characters.

I didn't see anything in your dxdiag that would indicate a driver or other video issue. So...

First, try unloading all of your addons. Perhaps one that you've installed recently, or updated recently, is causing the problem. Just move the Addons folder to a different place, then restart the game and see if this clears things up. If it does, the time-consuming part comes into play. Create a new, empty Addons folder, then copy your addons one by one into it, restarting the game each time, until the culprit shows up.

Alternatively, if this happens with only one or two of your toons, you may need to delete the character folder(s) for the affected toons. Navigate to C:/Users/{account}\My Documents\Runes of Magic and find the folder(s) for the affected toon(s). Delete the folder(s), then log into the game on the toon(s). The server will rebuild the folders and files, but you may need to redo the action bars.

Update:
1. Have removed savedvariables for all my characters and manually resetting my UI.
2. Have tried removing all addons and adding one by one to see if any particular addon is the reason why I can only see names on my UI.
3. Have tried playing without any addons.

None of the above have worked so I'd like to install the slim client to test, however I can't find a version of the slim client download on the RoM site (only full client and Magic Hub available) and would appreciate any direction pointing me towards the slim client download.

(*The reason I use the full client was due to some weird ping issue several months back, where my main character (and only that main character) had unusually high ping (anything from the range of 10k-200k) for several hours a day and an alt logged onto a different client on the same computer at the same time will have relatively normal (156ms) ping, swapping to a full client solved the ping issue.)

Use the Depositfiles links if you don't have a FileFactory Premium membership. Otherwise, the file size limits for FF will kill you.

And don't mix and match slim and full client file downloads. That leads to disaster. :D

I'v also had the same thing happen to me a few times. I just remember i'm playing ROM ,The game in perma beta.

I was watching Kuro's SW vid (EDH vs Heretic) and noticed there were quite a few players only visible by their names too.

*If I didn't need to heal I wouldn't be overly fussed but it's kinda tricky trying to chase floating names to heal them.

It does occasionally happen in SW. It is a seperate issue though.

In open world you should be able to load everyone.

As Kalvan suggested above ... one of the potential fixes is redownloading the client and manually patching it up.

i have been having the same problem for months already, always about siege time me and many guildies have the same problem, about only being able to see floating names. resetting client solves the problem for a few mins, but in siege we can't keep restarting... and it sucks we can only tab target, and mouse target the hp bar only works for 200 range.
