If that's the case, then chances are you'll have to do a complete reinstall by downloading the current client files, installing, then allowing the client to update itself.

And, as always, it's recommended that prior to downloading, installing, and updating the client,
temporarily disable your anti-malware and/or fireewall (third-party firewall--Windows Firewall is safe to leave running) programs. Re-enable them after the updating is complete.

It could be a corrupted patch installation. After all, the patch itself was close to 350MB.
