File Corrupted!!!!!

i downloaded the new update like everyone else, was on for 30mins..then crash over and over and over. Uninstalled my client, downloaded the lasted one with gamerforge from website. kept getting the message "An error has occured the source file is corrupted. click retry to try again, ignore(not recommended), or cancel" so i hit ignore everytime, fire up the program. it was doing updates but i never saw the start game window. just a blank desktop with an occasional download bar box from the updates. then it just didnt do anything after that. so uninstalled again and have downloaded the bin files manually, uninstalled gamerforge. installing again now, and im still getting the same corrupt messages...help!

I'm sorry to hear you are having troubles.

There is a link at the end of my Signature which will allow you to directly download & then install from the installation files - mirrors also provided, thanks to Inferiority.

Once installed, you have to allow the game to patch itself.

To allow the game patcher to run successfully, let me post the same advice Yrcanos gives in the EU manual patch thread:

Quoted from "Yrcanos"

...before we get to the patch list, let me provide some advice on how to avoid problems that occur time and again:
  • Always make sure you have a decent amount of free hard disk space on your C: drive, or wherever the windows %Temp% folder is located. (Unless you moved it manually, and you'd know, it will be on your C: drive.)
The best situation is to aim to always keep 10% of your hard disk free for use by Windows or other software.
In fact, the patcher will not even start if you have 3Gb or less available.
  • Disable your anti-virus & security software before you patch & re-enable it afterward.
If you are unsure about leaving your computer unsecure on the internet, download the patches you need, disconnect from the web & disable the securty software and execute each patch file manually. Then re-enable your software before reconnecting to the web.
For peace of mind, you may wish to run a virus scan at this stage since you've had your software disabled.
The disabling of seciruty software at theis stage will avoid many possible patch errors, such as corrupted textures & failed removal of expired in-game Festivals.
  • If you skip a patch file, you can damage your game installation necessitating a complete re-install.
You must install every patch between your current version and the latest version available.

I hope the above helps & please do come back if it doesn't so I can help you out some more if necessary.

Right below the block of text in his message, same as mine is.

In Kroagnon's sig, the link you want is marked "5.0.5 Client". Click it.
