Ground/Water Texture Issues

I realize they found out what is causing the water texture issues, HOWEVER, the patching from a fresh install got stuck several times for me and it ended up taking EIGHT DAYS OF SOLID PATCHING. I have a brand new Lenovo IdeaPad Y500 with 12Gigs RAM, a 4th gen i7 processor, and an Nvidia Graphics. My computer is fairly fast and has plenty of space, yet I'm also getting the out of memory message. I started downloading this game fresh to this computer and the patches got stuck once in a while so I would close the client and open it back up to jump start it. This was something a moderator posted that would mean that it shouldn't screw up my patches.

I was only using this computer for the download/patch of this game during the time it took for it to do this. Eight days of patching is just outrageously bad. Why are the majority of the 90 or so patches the game has not included in the downloaded files? Many other games I have played have updated their client to download from a set point and patch from there up.

I can't go through another 2 week install just for this game.

Is there any way to get the ground textures and flickering water fixed without uninstalling EVERYTHING? T.T My current ground textures look like absolute crap and the water is horrid. Also, idk if this is a texture issue, but the reflection of light on the ground in game is insanely bright. Like looking directly at the sun.

I'd really love this game and its gameplay...if only the game itself weren't buggin out the textures...

The most recent client version is 5.0.5 and requires about 12 patches.

If you required 8 days of patching, you must have been using a very, very, very old client download.

I downloaded the game from like 3.something and this is the download that the link on the main website sent me to. I'll delete the game and redownload it if I can find the client, but I did follow the prompts from the main page.

this is the link for the download I started. If you have a link to a correct 5.0.5 client I'd love to see it, but as of now, you are wrong since I downloaded from here and had to patch about 90 times.

Inferiority posted a set of client version 5.0.5 links here: Manual Downloads for the 5.0.5 RoM Client

Use one of the sets of links to download all of the client installation files. Delete any other installation files you have and uninstall your current game. Then reinstall using the 5.0.5 files.

This should cure your texture corruption problems.

Ok well when I tried to download the gameforge it took absolutely forever. If I could get this back to normal, I'd be so happy. The ground textures are just absolutely horrid. Wish I could download simply the texture files and replace mine with them, but w.e

So do I need to download The top link then all the bin files beneath said link? Or how? Does anyone know about a video that can tell me? I'd do that and save you the trouble if you know there is one out there. No need to search it for me. I can find it, but does it exist?
It keeps taking hell forever to download even the manual patches and the network times out...I can't download this game apparantly.

First off, none of the files in the forum link I posted require the Gameforge Live downloader. They're all direct downloads.

What I'd recommend is that you go into Control Panel > Programs and Features and uninstall the Gameforge Live downloader/launcher application. It isn't really needed, and it will run in the background whenever you start your computer and just take up memory and processor cycles. Get rid of it.

Then, using the link to Inferiority's file lists, pick one of the file depositories and download all of the installation files from that list. If you haven't done so already, do delete any existing installation files from your designated Download folder.

Once you have the new files downloaded, run the first file, named "RoMSetup.exe". That should start the entire process, with the exception of the patch files. Those will be automatically downloaded and installed the first time you start the game.

One more thing. If you're using a notebook or even a desktop machine and are also using a wireless connection, I strongly recommend using a wired connection from your router or residential gateway to the computer, if at all possible. The throughput will be far more stable and faster than wireless.

Hope this helps.

Nope. The EXE file is what starts the installation.

My bad. Corrected my obvious mistake. :dash:
