Problems Logging In!

Hey! I am just wondering if anyone else has been having trouble logging into the game? I do not see any messages about server maintenance. Anyhow, I have a level 74 mage/druid in Govinda. I have not logged in for a few days and today when I went to log in I got the message:

Connection lost please check connection and firewall.

My internet is working obviously since I am able to come to the forum and post this message so, that is not the issue. My firewall is set to allow Runes of Magic. I checked this to make sure.

Anyhow if anyone knows anything or has any advice for me I would greatly appreciate it!

if it's a "fix" like we've been getting for years, nty...

i would like to have scout be a viable class though...maybe they can buff joint blow and we could be a melee dps...

Thanks! I did not see anything on website about the maintenance so I thought maybe I was doing something wrong. I was only looking on the US website though. I did see that post on the UK website but, did not realize it was for US as well. Sorry bout the color thing, I was just trying to make it pretty... :o (embarrassing) Won't happen again!

What appears on the EN-EU website usually applies to the US server as well but at a different time.
There should have been a similar announcement on the US site too. I don't know why there wasn't.

I haven't logged onto ROM for a couple days, I can log onto the forums, launch other programs, etc, but ROM will not launch whatsoever, checked my internet settings too, Curse also launches, but I still cannot launch ROM even through Curse.. Help me please? will I need to re-install ROM maybe?
this is Wednesday, 2 pm here in Canada. Help please :)

If you are referring to your RoM start button, I had that same issue the other day where clicking on it did absolutely nothing.
I remedied it by doing a complete restart of my computer and all was fine.
Worth a shot.

Beren, thank you for responding so quickly, I took your advice. Unfortunately, I tried it at least 3 times, it did not work :(
Think I may have to re-install game, I have some time off work. Can't think of anything else :(

You may like to use the alternative links provided by Inferiority from the link in my signature.

Something else that springs to mind is to check your anti-virus software & be certain it hasn't quarantined the RoM executable - mine did that once after a patch since the EXE had changed and it thought a virus had modified it.

I would try to launch the client without launcher or version check and see if that works. From command line, go to ROM directory and type "client.exe NoCheckVersion".

Oh, and people who have more than 3 classes are clinically insane.

Another option to try, even if other apps are able to access the net, is to reset your router/residential gateway. There are certain ports that the game client needs to access, and it's possible that one or more of those have been closed off or otherwise altered in some way.
