I find this interesting when I am having no other trouble on the web. No other website I go to is experiencing this issue. Buy some new hampsters please.Todays problems are not limited to RoM US. Or even RoM at all.
Maybe we can give out more details later, maybe not. Not for me to decide and this is as much detail I can give atm.
Meanwhile we're working on getting the stuff back online and the zones/services back on those servers who are still online.
Beginner
Location: Northern New York (where the dairy cows are)
Occupation: Zoo Keeper...I mean Mom / Pharmacy Tech. / Student
Me too...I am having to play another game insteadBoy, i sure hope this gets fixed soon. =/
...I had taken a break from RoM for a while only to come back to problem after problem...I don't like it lol. I am playing EQ right now and there's no issues but I am sure they've had their share of things of this nature before.
I'm trying my hardest not to be/sound negative here...
but if is it indeed interweb troubles....and assuming all the servers are hosted in the same datacenter....why are only some of them having problems and not others? I am of course assuming they're all plugged into the same switch?
As much as the internet is "all connected", different issues across the internet does not absolve a recurring issue with gameforge's US servers. Or do you mean to say that all those other services and providers had issues on the same timeframe as gameforge? No idea. And see above, it is not only RoM this time having troubles today, let alone just RoM US like the past weekends.
It affects other GF games too, MMOs/Browsergames and whatnot. Even the IRC server for OnlineGamesNet had problems earlier.
Anything but the RoM US servers are not in the same DC, since the RoM EU servers and others are in a DC in DE and had problems too, same as other GF games.
At least a notice on the main website and a new thread (this one started several weeks ago) should be in order from a Mentor or GF employee detailing which servers are down, which zones are down in the servers that are up, a ballpark ECD and maybe a general description of the problem. The vast majority of the people that actually use these forums are somewhat technical and would appreciate even a little taste of transparency (hardware failure, issue with ISP, DDoS event, disgruntled admin pee'd on server farm, etc.).
It would take all of 5 minutes to do.
Why does it not affect non-GF games? Unless someone is targeting a DDoS at Gameforge...No idea. And see above, it is not only RoM this time having troubles today, let alone just RoM US like the past weekends.

So, how's EQ compare? Seems after many hours all I've learnt is that I obviously wasn't alowed to make my previous post as it was removed, hopefully this one will make it through.. I mean, what are gamers to do if we can't play game but talk about games...

[Update]
The servers that were previously unavailable are now back online.
We are still awaiting word on info related to Reni, Osha and Palenque zone issues.
