Hi all,

Yes, as my announcement yesterday reflected, we are as upset that housing is not up as much, if not more than you are. We are still working with Runewaker (the developer) for a solution - apparently the problem is more serious than once thought.

A bit of background for those that are just complaining that the housing is down without actually knowing what was wrong:

The housing was up immediately after the patch of last week but it was quickly learned that anything that was done in the house was rolled back immediately upon logging out. We as GM's and admins immediately started rotating announcements every 60 minutes as well as on the forums and IRC NOT to do any gear modifications or really any inventory management while in the house, including through the bank. Unfortunately, no one listened to that, we had multiple tickets of people losing items and stats, item shop items, housing energy, house furniture, etc. and it left us no choice but to disable the zone until the issue was fixed.

Based on items getting plain ol' lost completely (with an extremely long turn around time because of the amount of research on the support side needed) or not having access to house buffs for however long it took, we made the difficult choice to terminate the access to the houses until the issue could be fixed by the developer.

We've given you the Helping Hands NPC's for your use until the housing zone is fixed. That's unfortunately the very best we can do at this very moment, and trust me, as the Community Manager's are getting it from all the communities, they are very well aware of how serious the issue is and they continue to pester Runewaker repeatedly.

Thank you for the update, Aqualink.
All of this is extremely frustrating, but it's good to know that the players aren't just screaming into the wind.

Just saw the patch notes no mention of timer being fix for goblins which has been broke for over 6 weeks and still no houses this is just sad. I am not uninstalling RoM though I have been thinking about it but sure the hell wont spend anymore money on it.

Goblins has worked and is working for me and others on OSHA. Maybe it's something specific to you.

I find the temporary NPCs, in all truth, to be a very poor substitute for the minuses of not having housing available. I'm not worried about freebies or any of the such, but simply wanted equivalents of the housemaid potions, foods, and buffs, if not them specifically. These NPCs simply do not address most of the negatives in gameplay that the lack of having housing creates, thus keeping me mainly on the sidelines. If the specific problems that no housing creates weren't going to be addressed, then something more significant should have been added. Again, it's only an opinion and none of this reflects on the GMs. In short, I was very disheartened when I checked out the NPCs.

RW is too busy working on their new game to bother fixing RoM. So we'll never see a fix anytime soon

I don't know exactly what, if anything, was reported about storage box issues, but that is the point for me. I have a ton of stuff my new toon needs NOW (runes, gear, good potions, food, etc) that isn't going to be replaced by NPC's with buffs for Instances that I am not even entering.

While it's nice to hear in this thread (and the others) from the Community Managers, those of us who are needing assistance with the above are left out in the cold. The Inventory Viewer add-on SHOWS my items are intact in my storage boxes. (or at least in theory) A temporary release on housing so that we grab and move items to banks and backpacks would solve nightmares for a large portion of the "just returning" or "unorganized" players who rely on those boxes to save runes and gear to create upgrades.

Heck, diamond sales would probably go up if that sort of temporary fix was done, cause we would need more tabs in bank and backpacks.

Inventory viewer only shows what's what and where based on what you looked at last and logged out having looked at.... So, for all you know, it could be wrong.

I will have to disagree, since actually this would Create nightmares. Please read Aqua's information more carefully.

A rush on moving things stored in houses could result in losing it ALL. Team members have mentioned in a few different threads the extent of the ticket pile resulting from just two days of rollback-ridden houses. Some of those tickets were ...extensive. Now imagine if we let the leash off just long enough for every player to pull their favorite items out of storage, only to have it all disappear like so much smoke. ::shudder::

It doesn't bear thinking on. Put it from your mind please: it is in no way possible at this time.

And, Zerienga is unfortunately correct, your inventory viewer is not magical. It only takes screencaps of what was in your boxes when last you looked at them.

Sucks that housing is broken, though compensation events is appreciated.
Is it possible to disable the festival or to send everyone galloping gales everyday in mail? I just want my galloping gales lol.

I know about the Inventory Viewer stuff. And in fact, I looked at all those box's mere hours before Housing went down. Which is why I said "theory" because who knows what happened after I looked quickly at all that stuff. Needless to say, since I had no storage box issues, I had no idea how widespread that particular problem was, or I'd have been more specific in my previous post.

I know this will get fixed eventually, but since this affects every single player on all the servers, I'd consider it a massive problem. However, if something "broke" a lot of the housing functions including housekeepers, storage boxes and what all, I do understand it's a lot of code to work on. As sucky as it is, I'd rather get my items eventually rather then loose them forever.

Yes this is a very frustrating and irritation to all that are involved in the game, employees, players, mods...I am sure not a single one of us is happy with the current situation.

I find the temporary NPCs, in all truth, to be a very poor substitute for the minuses of not having housing available. I'm not worried about freebies or any of the such, but simply wanted equivalents of the housemaid potions, foods, and buffs, if not them specifically. So Eloquently spoken Les....sorta hold the same thoughts as your post but could never have expressed it in such a mature and polite way, so I just did not make a post about it. Been logging in to do dailies n that is about it atm.....which leads to what Ruisen asked for. Was a bit deflated when I found out that you can only get the buffs once per day.

Sucks that housing is broken, though compensation events is appreciated.
Is it possible to disable the festival or to send everyone galloping gales everyday in mail? I just want my galloping gales lol.

I wish they could send us Lucky Target, Unbridled Enthusiasms, ( crap
cannot rem the darn name of the spellcasting speed pot now ).
I wonder if they can even access these potions to even send out?

Is there any possibility to maybe gift us Backpack temporary tickets and Temp. Bankspace Tickets?

Something
on the lines like the Christmas gifts only the first toon/character you
log on recieves the backpack/bankspace ticket. I am aware of the fact
that a lot of us have multiple accounts but this could help with a
temporary solution to our storage.

If the housing is going to be
down for some time this would be most appreciated....I am not sure about
the rest of the community but I personally have a bad tendency to horde
( even worthless junk ). See the thing about questing is so many of
your quests give items that take up space, so saying even questing at
this point or instance running oh my goodness think how fast inventory
fills up if you actually farm an instance. Space is valuable to
me...between consumables and crafting alone I struggle with keeping
space available. And you have to have available space to open any type
of reward bags/gifts, as well as you have to have space to even complete ( turn in completed ) quests.

Ok sorry rambling just one of the biggest
headaches for me atm is space.

Yes I guess I could create a ton of accounts and fill up each space with a new toon but not sure that
would not possibly create more issues and still would not aid much in
storage due to so many items are bound ( like any gear that drops from a
lvl 57 or higher instance ).

Best of luck to Gameforge on resolving the issues.

ideas:

hk pots sent to mail (seems like this would have had to been planned months before this issue, ie: not possible)
hk pots spawned into bags by gms (this would require ppl to be logged on when gm's are and ppl would just complain)
hk pots given by npcs (again, seems like would need to be planned. rw probably has to code such npc's)

pseudo patk buffs cannot be given out I don't think...

Such an NPC doesn't seem like a Herculean task, but I could always be wrong. :) If they had kept their feathers numbered like Foghorn Leghorn for just such an occasion, such an NPC would have already been developed considering the problems in the past. Either way, they should do it now, and the worst case scenario is it would be ready for the next time something like this inevitably happens.

My question is why in the world the three instruments are tamb/rattle/sax instead of the obviously superior and much more widely used tamb/lute/guitar

on the plus side it seems that you guys can now spawn 6 npcs now instead of 4... I swear before there was only the possibility of having 4 Npcs for any event lol

Note that 4 of them are buff-giving NPCs and two are item-NPCs. Every event in my experience up to now used one set or the other, but not both.

I have no suggestions for hk pots other that what has already be suggested, but if space is your issue, create a guild.. it comes with a ban page. should solve the storage issue.
