Same issues last year during Fire Festival, and I'll be here to say "I told you so" a year from now during Fire Festival when it happens again like clockwork
If you can prove that it was the festival that broke the houses, maybe you should submit code to RW to help fix it, otherwise, maybe a vacation this time next year while we all possibly eat crow. ;-)

Just like server merges were for sure absolutely positively NEVER possible?

I've certainly never said that and I don't recall such a statement ever being made by anyone on the Community Teams.

However, we have said that Character Transfer between servers was not possible. It is still not possible, and currently, the server merge still isn't possible but it's close to becoming a reality. But we never said was never possible!

Wow sometimes the intelligence seems to be missing.we have always known server merges were possible.it was always a matter of how difficult it could be to accomplish.and I personally don't want to lose my main characters or all the items I have acquired since I started near the very beginning of chapter 3.
Please just keep your conspiracy theories to yourself.maybe even do some homework on them before you .....a player and NOT a game developer start blaming a certain festival.
You have shown no proof of what you believe.
I don't know if the festival is responsible for the house issue but it seems to me that we have had this festival before with no house issue.
Also I recall the Halloween festival getting blamed for various issues.

I'm not going to get into the festival/breakage thing.

As for sever mergers, Aqualink did state quite emphatically that server merges were not possible. :) Believe it was in September, but you can search for it yourself and verify if you wish.

Hmm.... kinda curious how it was the event when the issue started about a week after event started?

Kinda curious you just make up time frames.

Two days.

Two days after the fire festival was implemented did they shut down the houses.

Patch released the 29th of January, and houses were shut down "officially" that Saturday, all the while with a scrolling banner in game saying "dont go in your house" for a day or two BEFORE they physically shut the houses down.

Also to all you GMs and players sitting here saying they never said server merges weren't possible, I give you this from Aqualink

You stand corrected

Sigh....this topic....if I had a nickel...

It's been stated multiple times, and I do mean MULTIPLE times, that server merges are not possible. They might seem like they'd be possible from your perspective, but they're not. Too many conflicts, too many issues. It's. Not. Possible. Please look up the multiple topics about this issue .

To avoid another potential outrage and the fact that this topic has been discussed to death (note links above):

You apparently again need to look at what's being written more closer. In my land, there is a different between not and never. One (not) is present tense, and one (never) is future and forever tense. We've never said that server merges are never possible, only that they are not possible, only because at the time they were (and as Yrcanos stated, still are) indeed not possible.

This thread, however, is not about starting an argument about server merges and I kindly ask you to return to the topic at hand of the housing issue and your conspiracy theories.

Lmao what a politician's response.

"I never said that"

*shows proof of them saying that*

"Well..you didn't know what I meant.."

And this is why we can't take what you say at face value

As for time frame on housing problems, Xaldyn is correct. I'm not making a linkage.

Not possible, meaning impossible.

Patch released the 29th of January, and houses were shut down "officially" that Saturday, all the while with a scrolling banner in game saying "dont go in your house" for a day or two BEFORE they physically shut the houses down.

reports of broken housing chests from EU side started the same day as the patch(through the grapevine i heard that using the broken chests it was possible to dupe items, but used (in)correctly, house chest fiasco 2.0 would happen. i honestly am glad they shut the zone down to prevent both of those outcomes).

so yes, they ARE related. call us conspiracy theorists all you want but: houses are fine -> patch with festival -> broken housing chests(same day mind you) -> housing zone shut down -> patch with new festival -> houses *should* be fixed.

then again, RW does have a habit of breaking things randomly with patches, so it's not definitive, but there is a pretty darn strong correlation.

Quoted

Not possible, meaning impossible.

They also said that about travelling faster than the speed of sound!

Now, this thread comes back to topic and if you want to argue with me over the technicalities of what we've previously said, take it to PM.

Even in the post you quoted, Aqualink didn't say what you said he said.

So, as I've said, what you said we said is something we have in fact not said yet your own quote of what was said supports what we said we said. Now, when all's said and done, we will now move back to the topic of the Housing...

...or my Torture Chambers will find new victi-, er, volunteers to fill their racks.

A: That hurt; and
B: Glad the houses are being fixed. My housemaids miss me.

I cannot think of any possible useful addition to this thread. We think houses will come back tomorrow. If not, we'll continue where we left off.
