i had that when i tried installing Win 10 on my computer, then returned to Win7 and all went to hell. Re-installed Win 7 6 times, format and everything, then to realize it was Firefox creating the issues and their stupid windows update. Also i was crashing a lot watching videos and music in Firefox while playing the game. Starting to think Microsoft is deliberately putting a patch to break Firefox so people use Explorer lol. Also i read that Avast also could have been the issue, so i turned off my windows updates off, installed my mcafee instead and no crashes since 5 days ;-)

I was also losing my mind over that, good luck with your computer ;-)

- Did you do any recent software upgrades (e.g. driver)?
- Did you check to make sure there are no failing hardware components?
- Did you recently add/update any RoM addons?
- Do you have any addons and did you try removing them to see if the problem continues without?

You can always try reinstalling the game too, but I would check the above items first. If it has worked fine for years, it still should. Something else 'changed' recently that is causing the problem.

ya Win10 upgrade was a nightmare since running a Nvidia 760 GT card.
I did all my checking on hardware etc, even switch my 850 watts power supply to another comps 730 watt just in case and nope
It wasn't ROM' s fault or the add'ons, i always use the same ones for years
i could only be running Firefox and BSOD when trying to open windows to check for problems online etc, so i had to use another comp to check stuff out
But it all started when i tried to install Win10 and i went to hell!! I WAS DOOMED!!!!! ;-)

But hoped it helped the OP a bit, i never upgrade to Win10 EVER lost 12 days of playtime!!!!! and card farming oh oh

I upgraded to Windows 10 and haven't had any issues. Then again, I run Chrome, not Firefox.

I have heard that the Win 10 Nvidia 760GT video driver that was initially issued caused major problems. The initial fix was to uninstall that driver and revert to the Win 7 760GT driver, which works/worked perfectly. I have no idea if Nvidia fixed and released an updated Win 10 driver.

One of the other problems with that driver package was: If you were using the built-in AUDIO for the 760GT, it was also borked. Again, the Win 7 version of the driver package worked perfectly with Win 10.

Go fig, but Nvidia has historically had driver problems with new Windows versions.

It sounds like you got it working...for now. I'm not clear as to the frequency of this previous BSOD issue to make the claim it has indeed been fixed. Was it happening anytime the game started? Only when playing the game for <X> minutes? At random times during game play, yet every day? Some other frequency?

Others in this thread are also making a lot of general comments regarding Win 10. However, I'm not clear as to what O/S you are particularly using.

If you have indeed gotten past the point where it would typically BSOD, then it does sound like either messing with your video card or reinstall of the game fixed it.

Kalvan you are a god sent!!!!!!!!!! i have a 760GT nvidia card, i've re-installed win 7 12 times now and was still having issues. I think it might be the audio thing that was causing it actually cause i never had issues for 4 years+ except a faulty power supply. I will see how it goes with my latest install of Win 7 and hopefully it is fixed.

The other times i was installing i tried from driver 343.XX to the latest 353.XX and was having the same issues, i think it might be to choose video drivers only to prevent all the other crap they want to install on your comp ;-)
