So I just downloaded the patch, and it took forever. Finally when it was completed the "play" button was never highlighted. I have let it sit for about an hour to see if it made a difference, but unfortunately it did not. Any suggestions?

Oh nevermind, no assistance needed! I went to my files manually and found I may have corrupted the installation by closing it and reopening it in the process of downloading. I simply deleted overlapping files and resumed the installation

This mostly happens, when your client doesn't download all patches. There is a variation of reasons for this to happen (comp went on standby during the installation/download of the patch for example), but the link Cike posted, should help (thanks for that).
