So let's say I have to manually patch, and the number on my Patch Window is 3.0.1.2192, and it keeps stopping at 79%. Do I patch the 3.0.1.2192? or jump up to 3.0.1.2199?

the 2192_2199 patch was not small and took about 30 min on my laptop to install. If you have waited an hr or so and its still stuck at installing that patch, reinstall the one previous to it and then do the next one again and see if it installs properly then.

I am using a brand new laptop with very high performance components. I have downloaded the game and redownlaoded it 3 times. Every time the same problem occurs with the updater. It gets to version 3.0.1.2178.en then stops, the update shows 30% while the download shows 1% the spped starts everytime I open ROM anywhere from 2 to 1000 kb/s and slowly decreases to 0kb/s. After a while I receive a "not readable message, make sure update is there. Then i resorted to using the manual patches. All patches prior to 3.0.1.2178 function, however when i try to manually download the 2178-2181 patch I get a fail to extract the data message. I am a returning player and I love the game I purchased a 1000 diamonds please anything helps!!

You can try re-patching from 2.1.6.2087; http://www.megaupload.com/?d=M13LTPFW
Most recent Version.txt I have, that isn't our current one.

Extract to: (Program Files\Runes of Magic\Download\)

You have 4 months worth of patches to apply, but it should fix the problem.

So let me get this straight. Download-Install-Run Runes of magic. When the problem occurs, download the file you provided and extract it to program files(x89)/RunesOfMagic/Downloads, replacing the older version. Then run Runes Of magic again? Do i manual update at all? Anything i'm missing?

I would not take roton's approach. Patching up from the previous chapter tends to lead folks down a dark path of destruction which ends up with long long patch downloads, even longer install time and in the end, bubkus.

What you could try, since you seem to be stuck on 1 particular patch, is to try an alternate patch download that the EU mentor keeps. One of their forum mods (not a GM, just a helpful person noted with special rank as Mentor) has been providing for them links to alternate sites for downloading for those who run into a bad patch file in their local caching server.

if you go to their manual patch thread, the are alternative links to megaupload for most of their patches.

I tried your suggestion and the same exact problem occured, with both the official download and megaupload the download apparently stopped at 1.79 MB

then perhaps you have some other issue going on that is preventing you, is it possible your ISP has a download cap?

is it possible you have run out of hard drive space to download?

is it possible that your temp folder has corrupted files in it?

What is the temp folder?
No way it's a memory or performance problem brand new computer with high quality components.
