Is it possible for me to manually download the patch on another computer then transfer it over via flash drive or email?

...Okay, so i nearly lost my entire hard drive space to this ISPANIADATA problem, but I got it to work with the latest patch download here, even though absolutely none of the male textures were showing.

So to correct this issue, i uninstalled and redownloaded, i went for the eight part download instead because as you say, it is the safest, but it keeps downloading the same thing incorrectly.


SO time to manually apply all the patches, and now i see exactly where it's going wrong. the 2181 to 2192 patch Is the one with the botched patching, and creates the ISPANIADATA file. I notice that it's at least bigger than data, so perhaps if i rename it to fdb and replace it, maybe the patching will carry on correctly.

This botched patching system is the only thing keeping me from playing this game properly.

This is it. If THIS does not work, I'm not playing this game.

I have been uninstalling and reinstalling manually and through the client for the past 4 days...I am tired of this. I am missing graphics and it has been only since I updated. Please help. I just bought diamonds and a free mount came with it and now time is running on it. = (

I'd have to say that so far this game is by far the worst game i have ever had to install. I have a 2mb/s average download speed yet it still took twice as long as it should have just to download the current client. i waited and wait, let it do it's auto-update junk and then for some reason on one of the updates it stops extracting at 22%, copying some interface.fdb. When i go to "My Computer" and hit refresh i can slowly watch as my 719.2Gb / 1TB of space slowly gets eatten away by this fail of a game update system. i let it eat away 270GB of my space trying to update itself before i stopped it. Seriously if you are going to make a game, make sure you at least have support for the people who are going to play it. No one wants to wait and wait only to find out that the game won't even work. For everyone else having issues with the long updates, don't bother waiting it's just not worth it.

If that isn't good enough to install, update and play this game then I'm surprised you guys have as many users as you do. Good luck failing.

Thank you for these patches. The idea of having to reinstall everything just made me want to never play again. But now I can play.

For any of you that are having problems patching, I recommend turning off your firewall while it patches, that's what I did and it's going much faster now. Also you could end some processes and such to increase installation speed, maybe set priority of the updater higher.

Okay, so the back story.

I've played RoM for quite a while but had not played for a while... went to update and kept getting an error saying that an update file could not be loaded. Well stupid me un-installed RoM instead of manually patching.

Well I go and download all of the 8 files from the download page and end up with the typical corrupt file texture0.fdb etc. Well using the thread http://forum.us.runesofmagic.com/showthread.php?t=17359

I downloaded the game files and the fdb as well as the wdb files and added them separately. Fortunately for me I could then open the game and let it begin to patch. However after several run through of downloading files and then patching the client is stuck at Download: 100% with Check MD5 OK. And the second bar Patching: stuck at 79%. Its been like that for about an hour now with no change or hint at a change.

Due to not being able to install the game so far I am stuck. I dont know why the game wont install. Im pretty sure it isn't the memory and I have downloaded the files numerous times. I am just very frustrated as to why a few months ago I could install no problem and now I can't do anything.

So where are the correct files to download? It seems they would have them on the download page and not a bunch of files not recommended.
I have spent the last few hours dloading the 8 files part at the bottom of the page after that was recommended. Now I see something about chapter 3 files and I see nothing about chapter 3 files on the download client page.
Whats up? What should I download? Thanks for any help in this confusion.

damn it! most of the current updates do not download. They get stuck after a while. and the autopatcher gets stuck after just 1% for 3.0.1.2178 - 3.0.1.2181! i think i jst downloaded a 6.4 GB for no reason.

The current list of installation downloads (big single file, two part, and eight part) are the "Chapter 3" files. Ur doin' it rite.

Ridiculous. After receiving NO help from Frogster or from this forum, I won't be playing this game.

*Downloads that take hours to complete, and even longer to install.

*Conflicting installation instructions all over the place.

It's no wonder this game isn't catching on. No one can install it to even play it! I'll be saving my money for something that doesn't require the software equivalent of a kidney transplant, thank you very much.

What is going on?

Very possibly a corrupted download/installation. The former can happen easily if you downloaded the big single file and if you have even a somewhat dodgy broadband connection.

Run the game launcher and take a look at the update/patch level that's in the lower right corner of the launcher window. Then go to the first page of this thread and follow Tigsman's instructions on how to manually patch the game. Start with the patch that *begins* with the update level your game is currently at and work your way up the list.

If this doesn't work you'll have to do a full uninstall of the game, using Add/Remove Programs (WinXP) or Programs and Features (Vista/Windows 7). After uninstalling the game, navigate to your My Documents or Documents folder and delete the RoM data folder that's in there. Then reinstall the game, run the game launcher, and allow it to autoupdate normally.

Actually, this is what *this* particular thread is for. If you read post #1 in this thread, Tigsman explains what's going on and how to deal with it. Follow his instructions and you can manually patch the game.

For the past two days i have been trying to update my game. Using the auto patcher, i get stuck at 4% when downloading the 3.0.1.2178 - 3.0.1.2181 patch. I tried to download the manual update but everything says that the link is broken. here is a picture of my updater.

So, go to the first post in this thread. Scroll down it a little and you'll find a list of Current Patches. Look for the patch that begins with 3.0.1.2178en and download it. Repeat the process with all of the other patches *above* the first one you downloaded.

Now, following Tigsman's instructions, copy or move all of those patches to the main Runes of Magic game folder. Once you've done that, run each one in *ascending* order, starting with the 2178 patch. When you're finished doing that, you can start the game.

It ain't rocket science.

Hey genius cant you understand what i am saying. Those links are broken (even the mu links). They do not fully download. There is something wrong with their server. So read my problem carefully before you reply.
