Runes of Magic US / AU

I couldn't install the patch automatically, so I downloaded your manual one. It all went fine, installed, I get the launcher. However, when I press Start Game I get the following error:

ObjectDataClass [Init] LoadFile failed = data/RuneExchangeEx.DB

Any chance you know how to fix that?

Coming back from a long RoM vacation here. Going through my 7th patch file and still have 11 to go.
They really should intergrate the patches with the full game download versions more often.
Don't know how much of RoM folk are using automatic updates but being a Linux user myself I heard I have no other option but to go with manual ones.
I'm sooooo going to rip my pants if this doesn't work due to some corrupted files making me have to download and patch all this again.

EDIT: Strange, my post count is 1. Sure I'm a EU player but I remember posting a few on US side as well.

A day late, just my luck. Well, I got mine installed with the patches so I shouldn't complain.
Almost threw in the towel a few times today but finally I managed to make Wine work as supposed to.

For the love of everything holy. Can I get the manual patch for 3.06 or the slim client? I mean I been downloading and crashing for 6 hours and still only 31% done.

Would it be so out of line for frogster to post a d/l to fix this issue? They run this pop stand like amaturers not like a finely tuned adminstering agentcy. Real Bussiness men know that good public relations are most important....

To look for links, borrow files and find fixes from others is inviting trouble for the users they depend upon to pay the bills.

For the past three days I've been looking for a way to fix the error for the 3.0.6 patch... it gets to 79% on the main bar and 56% on a sub bar then says that It cant find the specified file, then the update starts rolling back.

Has anyone else found a fix for this? Technical support "suggested" I repair my network... I didn't think that was the problem, but i tried it THREE TIMES, and of course it still didn't work... very frustrating to have to dl 80% of a patch just to see if it will work. If this takes more than a week I don't know how I'll feel about supporting the game in the future.

Go back to the very first post in this chain, read it, and follow Tigs' instructions on how to manually patch the game.

If all else fails, you may have to do a complete uninstall/reinstall.

after uninstalling downloading and reinstalling the full client twice and watching it update flawlessly and not work? What then? Another weekend with problems and the wonder if it will ever be different?

Tig you do a lot of good here, and it is with regret I think that you are poorly if compensated for work others should be doing.

Ok, a year after my initial attempt to install and play this game, I'm back trying again. I am once again having the same exact issues.

I've installed the game, first I tried it with the slim installer, and when that didn't work, I downloaded the full version.

Once installation completed, I tried to launch the game, the ClientUpdate.exe file starts, and the splash screen comes up. It patches to 79% and then just closes, leaving the clientupdate.exe process active, but not doing anything.

So... I went to the list of patches, and downloaded the 3 that it would take to get the installer version up to current, installed them and tried to launch the game. The splash screen comes up, says I have the most current version and that everything is at 100% and then simply closes, leaving the clientupdate.exe process active but not doing anything.

I REALLY want to play this game. Can anyone give me any help in getting this to work?

My system meets/exceeds all the system requirements. I can post a dxdiag log if necessary. I'm kind of at my wits end.

any idea when the new holiday patch will be here? the auto updater failed and won't let me download the patch

I have been playing runes of magic for awhile now but I have recently redid my bootcamp on my MacBook pro from windows xp to windows 7. Everytime I click start I get the crash report and a blacked out game screen. My computer should be able to handle everything since I was able to play after the last patch about 3 days ago on xp. Although I was gettin a crash report everytime I logged out. I have reinstalled the game 4 times with the regular size and slim and have done it with manual patching as you showed in the original post. I'll try to get a dxdia soon but I'm redoing the bootcamp again just to see if that was the problem so I'll post if that doesn't help. My MacBook is pretty new only 1 and half old and I was able to play 3 days ago on xp. I only started to get the crash report on exiting before on the last patch but other then that everythin was normal. Thanks in advance.

Tigs thank you so much. I was worried I would have the same problems as the others, and after waiting a good 35 hours for the game to download and install, using your clientupdater for patch 3.0.7 has worked.

New to this game but not new to this kind of problem or type of game. I used to play Lineage II, Kamael, interlude. I love the idea of free to play and pay for upgrades but this lengthy download and slow updating from a clean install will chase many people away. I could have downloaded and been playing Aion (6 gb download) on private servers and leveled to 20 by the time this thing finally finishes. Sooooo... my question is, why have you guys and gals not incorporated these patches in your fresh install download? They did it on private servers for Lineage every couple of months I don't see why it can't be done here.

We are talking about programmers that have the same ability as you guys, not NCsofts programmers. I have known and played with some of the Lineage private servers hosts and programmers and believe all you need to do is replace your patched files into your install. 12-18 hours to download (if it doesn't stall out to 0 kbps like mine did), another approximately 10 hours to apply the update on the fresh install is not going to get as many people in to play this as would a clean installer which included the newest patches. The more people is the potential for more cash flow I am one of those who will pay for upgrades IG but this length of patching a clean install is already turning me off.
