Why is it Updating/Manual Patches

I'm sorry if this question has been asked.

Why do you need to download the patches in order? Can't you just download the latest patch once you've installed the game?

Each patch has its own information and content. And, if you look at the filenames, they are in ascending order, from one patch to the next. That's the best reason and explanation I can give.

backward?

So from what i gather each patch is downloaded seprately. My version numbers in the lower right corner were ascending. It has now gone from version 4.0.1.2424 to 4.0.1.2412......
Clues??

If you're manually patching the game and the version numbers are descending rather than ascending...ur doin it rong. :eek:

The current game version is 4.0.1.2433en.

Why don't they just put all the patches into the installation file to avoid this problem? They've had it for over two years now, you'd think they'd have the sense to fix it.

And by fix it, I mean have enough sense to update the site with a new installation file every time you update the game so this problem doesn't exist. It wouldn't take that long, especially if it were done like it is supposed to be. I've got a rather decent connection, with 300 kb/s, and I've been downloading and installing this game for 3 days now. This is ridiculous.

However, I'm excited about the game and I will give you this: it looks amazing. Once it downloads I'll calm down.

highest number in the patch list lol... since this file exist...
* patch_4.0.4.2454.en_4.0.4.2456.en.exe (27,4 MB)

eliathian, as long as the version number in the launcher keeps counting up, you will just have to leave the patcher running. There are quite a few patches necessary at the moment to bring the download client up to date, unfortunately. If it constantly remains at 79% on one patch, it might be stuck/lost connection. Then i would recommend to stop the launcher and restart it to see if it picks up where it stopped.

ugh

Im stuck on 38% and its moving very slowly its at 38%(12.10 KB/s) and moving very slowly... and im on 4.0.0.2413.e... I dont know what to do, is something wrong?

Depending on how many are downloading at the same time, the download can slow down a bit from time to time, but usually it spikes back up higher if you wait a little. So best advice would be to just leave the launcher running and if you run any other bandwith-intense applications in the back, to shut them down for the time being.
