You're welcome Dionaea. As my home router's been wonky about port forwarding w/ RoM for some reason (totally a hardware problem, not RoM), I'll be manually patching for the foreseeable future, and will post the links as soon as I find them up!

So as always my autopatcher will not work with any new patch, its always so random when it actually start to download the patch like a day after release, a few hours.... and yes i tried doing manual updates but after i done installing them i get the error "Download fail client version is different from server" and the funny part about it usually when it doesnt autopatch it usually let me log into game with the previous patch. So yeah what i found interesting today while i was connected to my isp internet still couldnt get my client to autoupdate nor manual patch, was having some issue with net so i switched my laptop to my blackberry the phone worked as a modem and allow you full internet access, so soon as i lunched the client it started downloading patch. when it got done i was able to get in game ect. but when i switched back to ISP net" client version different from server"

My Client is stuck at 100% on both bars.. And it's still using all my bandwidth. It's obvious that it is still downloading something but why is it stuck at 100%? The patch size is 303 MB and i don't know if i should download manual patch or keep waiting for it.

Your main problem seems to be that you're using an older Chapter IV installation file set. My recommendation would be to halt the patching process, delete the RoM installation and the installation files that you have, and download a set of the Chapter V (5.0.5) installation files.

Should you do this, do not download and install the Gameforge Live package. Avoid it, as it has a number of errors/issues. Instead, either download the installer that's available from our website or go here: http://forum.us.runesofmagic.com/showthread.php?t=70835 You'll find links there, posted by Inferiority, to the 5.0.5 full client and slightly older Chapter V slim client. If you don't have a Filefactory Premium membership, use either the Depositfiles or Frogster.de links. Also, do not mix the full and slim client files.

Hope this helps.

Any chance of getting the 5.0.7.2622.en patch added to the list of manual patches? The auto client update method was an epic fail (update file wasn't found after the download, thanks) and even corrupted my install, it won't even start up at all. Would be nice to have the manual patches updated at the same time as the auto client updates. Downloading the same thing twice isn't my idea of fun.

It's there, they just haven't updated the thread yet:

Sorry about that Southern, I must have missed it but looking for info in these forums is becoming more like an easter egg hunt than anything. Loosing interest fast. I still have no idea why Reni and another server was down 2 days ago with nothing posted in the forums about it at all. You would expect that would have been top of one of the forum categories when it was all going on.

Thanks for the link, can't believe the patching software can't find the file it just downloaded.

Just as the above poster said, thanks a ton for the link. Ever since the 5.0.7 patch the auto updater simply hasn't worked for me. As its finalizing the update I have this window pop up with a lot of '????' marks in it and weither i hit cancel or ok, or even close out the window i get another window open up that says something to do with Winrar. From there the only options are '????' or '????' highlighted.

It seems no matter what I do from the error message on I get the same 'please update your client' message when I try to log in.

I'm really hoping I don't have to do this for every single patch from here on out.

With the oficial GameForge client I left my pc on for over a FULL day and when i saw it it was on ten percent as always, went to check the files (Downloads: Hiden Folder: Gameforge) and there was only 3.4 gigs downloaded and soposed to download the next part (bin file 6 since it starts from the last to the first) and just when i was about to close the folder i see that the file keeps reseting it self at around 800Mbytes, left it to see if it was a mistake, and THERE again it does it, making it an infinite download.
RAGED looked for the manual client, added the files to Jdownloader and in less than 8 hours i had the game instaled, BUT patching is the same thing as the gameforge client, Thing to do: When it gets stuck, CLOSE & OPEN right away it starts at 30% lets say but wont take an infinite amount of time to UNstuck it self.

Looking at the EU side, a lot of people are having issues downloading the patch normally - here is the link for patch http://download.frogster.de/patch/en/pat…0.2.2656.en.exe
A real sysadmin knows how to change the time.
If you make the same mistake while trying to make up for the previous one, you are doing something wrong.

As much as I'd love to say I offer consulting services, the scope of things broken is too large.

The problem EU side was that they failed to upload the entire patch, missing a few 100mb so not only Auto but Manual were failing, issue seems resolved now, but just in case the prob pops up US side that link should help...

The auto patch didn't work for me either. Just tells me the client version is different despite the lower left saying 6.0.2.2656 which means I have the correct version.
Hopefully, this manual patch will work. =.=

Patch

I am getting the same error. Just wondering if there is a solution for this. I rolled back to the old patch and let me log into character selection. When I try to continue the game crashes.

If you manually re-install a previous patch or patches, you must also install any follow-up patches. And if, for some reason, re-installing a patch corrupts your RoM installation, you will have to completely re-install. No getting around that.

Log in issue

Ok, I am currently overseas atm. In my room the internet is routed through a Europe switch and the game logs in fine. When I am at a different location the internet is routed through a US switch and it gives me the client version error. I rolled back to the old patch at location with US Switch lets me log in but crashes when I try to log in a character. When I was in my room the auto patch worked perfect, updated np. Just says at work (download failed. Client Version Error!). Is there a config file I can change so I can log at the other location with the US Switch?

In my Room -
Region - USA
SPRACHE - enus
VERSION - 6.0.2.2656.en

Thanks,
Hap

I've only had to use manual patching once. Even then, the patches themselves are (for the purposes of this discussion) located in on EU patch servers. It makes no difference--the patch/update works with the Gameforge version of the RoM game client, no matter if you have the region set to EU, US, or AU (and you have a game account in the selected region, of course.) Language setting will be for the server language--again, of course--and will display that language.

Presuming you have a "standard" RoM installation and 64-bit Windows, navigate to C:\Program Files(x86)\Runes of Magic and find the file named Config.exe.ini. Open it with Notepad and you should see:

[Version]
Major=6
Minor=0
BuildNum=2
AutoIncrement=1
Extend=2656
Country=en

Going down the numbers, you will see the patch itself: 6.0.2.2656en.
