Log in issues

Everything set correctly, I am currently at work were it routes though a US Switch. Still have Download Failed, Client Version Error! Went back to my room and logged in no problem. If I change to the EU or AU server at work, I can log into the AU server or the german server np.

Thanks for any suggestions,
Hap

It could be that your worksite is blocking the GF server that does the version check. This would give you the error message you've been receiving.

And auto patching once again, fails. When will the new 6.0.4 patch be out for manual installing?

You will find it from Yrcanos signature on his EU account: Officail Manual Updates - Chapter 5 and Beyond
Newest update has just recently been added.

Also for future reference, you can find it via Yrcanos signature here on US, but have to click link within thread it directs you to get to above post.

It's time for RW to update the full client. It's not a big deal, and it should be done with each new chapter (ie. 5.0, 6.0 etc). Other games do it all the time, stop being so fricken lazy RW.

I for one have a couple friends and a cousin who are interested in trying the game, but I'm not recommending it to them with the current headache of downloads, patches, acknoledging errors, more patches, and false-leading progress bars.

ps. While you're at it, please bring back the Light client as well.

Frogster always had a fresh client available at each chapter release and again about midway through the year.
Gameforge have also release a fresh client at the chapter 6 release so I'm guessing a new one might turn up soon - I have no idea why you're accusing Gameforge for not doing something they are doing.

The last slim client release was at 5.0.5 and due to expanding game content was almost at the same download and installation size as the regular client. Thus, it was discontinued.

Have your friends and cousin get the direct game file downloads here: Manual Downloads for the 6.0.1 RoM Client It's faster than using the GFL application, though a bit more involved.

Also, there are currently only eleven patches to update with. While several are quite large to download, it's certainly not as bad as the situation back in Chapter V--where there were 25-odd patches to install before the game client was updated.

My apologies, thanks for setting me straight. Last time I installed from the installer on the website it took like 2 days with lots of error prompts (not antivirus related btw) etc. Thanks for the link, I'll keep it in mind should they sound up to 11 more involved manual patches. Still sounds like about 7 too many.

I get that the slim client is almost as big, but it sure runs more smoothly on two of my machines. Perhaps it's just that the standard client's texture file is too large. I dunno. Anyhow, I for one prefer the Slim Client, which I can't even imagine how long it would take to install these days. Please bring it back!

Thank you!

That manual update worked! Thank you very much! I don't know what a lot of us would have done had you not posted this.

Thank you very much again.

Question about the patches/updates.

After installing them, then running each one of the updates. Would it be safe to delete them from the folder when done?

Yep. All update does is download and run the self-extracting EXE file. Once applied, no point in keeping, unless you think you might be reinstalling soon.

Is Kalvan still updating this? Haven't seen him in a while, hope he is OK.

Here is the current manual patch - http://download.frogster.de/patch/en/pat…0.8.2695.en.exe

The EU forum thread has patches going all the way back to 5.0.5 but given the lates client is actually 6.0.6, you may find that downloading and installing it might be a smaller overall download.

Thanks for these. The automatic installer doesn't tell me what speed it's getting the files at, and it doesn't download while the current patch is being applied, so going manual was the best way to make use of my time. Still it's taking a long long time.
