ahhhhh hating this.. i went to documents and to that place and make a folder "Runes Of Magic" and then tried it again.. still not working.. last option redownload.. or idk if it will work.. need help again >.> :confused:

DUDE THANKZ A BUNCH U WERE RIGHT..

i made a folder in my own loc where i put my games and that was the problem.. i shoulda put it in the program files thing or w/e

its loadin now and since my comp is uber fast should take like 35 minz tops xD so phyced..

one tip.. for regular gamers and beginners.. this may be hard and if it doesnt work.. they would quit.. i'd suggest this company to get a lil better and make it so its easier

i'm seeing only 5 - 6 people askin for help.. and usually those are hardcore mmorpgers who wanna play any game they find fun like me xD thankz anyways and try to get this fixed

It could be easier

I don't mind that it needs to incrementally update, but that I have to wait here and babysit the silly patcher to point it to the same directory where it installed the game and the first 15 updates. ....<sigh>.....

Yup, as stated earlier, this 'extract to' bug is a very recent bug within the last 2 weeks or so and not normal. On top of trying to fix that, they are working on completing new packaging so its only 3-4 patches behind instead of 25. bringing the initial download up to 2.1.5.2004. So its not so long to update.

ok i downloaded the "Chapter II The Elven Prophecy" client and i'm at 2.1.5.1992 and the download thing gets to 100% and the update thing gets to 80% then it tells me to extract it to the file were I installed the game so i do and it shows every thing load up then the updater crasher and starts it all over I've been trying to update the game for the past 10 hours and nothing has been working

there are several patches to go. 2.1.5.2050 is current. If the updater is crashing, thats not good, is there an error that pops up, something like 2048MageByte perhaps? if so, you're running out of disk space, clear some.

restart the launcher, if it errors out, please let us know what error. I would ask that you take this to the Technical Issues forum for further troubleshooting.

hmm, have some gratitude for the devs giving you a huge free game in the first place and the support needed to run it you***having to manually patch it myself, just write a batch file to call them all for you...

save it as mypatch_1871-2050.bat

and put it along with the patch exes in the install directory (Program files/Runes of Magic) and then run it from the command line.

a little less labourious now i can go have a cup of tea! Still waiting to try the game! my auto updater wouldn't work and i messed up my manual patches so thought i'd make sure i got it right 3rd time round!

Hope it helps someone - think the file order is correct but you better check for yourselves!

i saved all of the patches to the rom folder. now what do i do? do i have to just click them and run them. after that do i just click the rom launcher or do i have to reinstall rom?

if they are all in the install folder, you may simply double click them in order, to apply them. You may try pharcycle's approach, I simply dont know its effectiveness, usefulness or if in fact it worked.
