Taking days to install a video game- are you freaking kidding me?
I have a huge pipe in- (20megs down at least 3megs up) running on an Intel Quad core and I can download and install Modern Warfare 2 and Mass Effect 2 and play them in a few minutes- but this game takes days.
Terribly ridiculous is an understatement.
So to answer your question mate- with the 80kb dl speed- gonna take you a month to install (my best times on this server is 1600kb/s and i'm frustrated- I imagine your wait is gonna make mine look .... ah never mind).

Sorry you are having so much of a problem, takes me about 3 hours to download, install, patch and play with about the same bandwidth capabilities as yourself. Perhaps you hit a curve ball, a bug or failed patch that is not installing, that you can manually patch and get you on your way.

As for a new client download, they have been working on it, it was supposed to be released a week or more ago but failed QA, so they put it back into the box until it can pass QA. Last word was perhaps early next week for its release. Maybe even today, who knows.

mi problema se hizo mas grave

Resulta que mi personaje esta bujeado,. no puedo usar ningun items que haya tenido antes de la actualizacion.. pero.. los items que me dropean a partir de la actualizacion. si los puedo usar..

Por ello.. mande mensajes pidiendo su ayuda.
Pero hasta ahorita solo me han dado opciones vagas.. Necesito una buena opcion para corregir esto..

Porque muchas de las cosas que no puedo usar es precisamente los que he mejorado con articulos que he pagado con diamantes (osea dinero real).

Hoy formatee mi disco duro por si hubiera virus o algo en mi pc que me impidiera la actualizacion..

Pero al momento de volver a instalar el juego.... no me lo instala.. descargue el cliente completo.. y cosa curiosa.. tampoco funciona....

Ahora que hago??

It stops the upgrade around 79%.

I can see that in the download file. I don't know what to download to finish this :-(

I can't get past 79% of the upgrade but the text file seems to mean I've all the upgrades. So how can I know what to do?

sitting at 79% is normal, so long as it keeps restarting itself and progressing. After the launcher restarts after applying a patch, the version number should go up. The current version is 2.1.6.2065.

Here is a picture of the version number on the launcher, so long as it keeps moving up, it is all good.

Right now my download is stuck with something saying 'Check MD5 Ok' in the download bar. I also got this message that popped up saying 'dds.' and thats it. I would appreciate any help.

one of your patches got borked, I've only seen this one other time, full reinstall was required. But if this was only the last patch that caused this, you could try reapplying manually the last one. Otherwise, from scratch ya go, sorry!

Please Help me I just recently downloaded this game took a day to install full with like 5 gb. Then Ive been installing updates for EVER! 2.1.2.1945.en atm. Is there something wrong here is this normal because from what Im gathering it has to be 2.1.6.2065 or something and if thats so thats going to take years or months this is Friggin ridiculous.

Well, yes. It is a bit silly. But bear with me for a moment...

Check the update level in the lower right corner of the program launcher. As long as it is progressing upwards, it's still updating. If it seems to be stuck on one of the updates for a *very* long time, it might be hung up.

There are a couple of possible cures for this: You can exit the program and restart it to see if that will "unstick" the autoupdater. If this doesn't work, then you can manually patch the game yourownself. The patch links are in the first message of this thread. Take note of the *last* good update patch that was applied (lower right corner, remember?) and download all of the patches you need, beginning with that one. Copy them *all* into your main RoM folder (C:\Program Files\Runes of Magic) and run each one, in ascending order.

Or, you can go to the trouble of downloading the *new* client from the EU website, which is far more current than the one available on the US site. (The EU client downloads are at version 2.1.6.2049.) Completely uninstall what you have, and delete the personal RoM folder that's under your \Users\{name} folder. Then install the new client and let it update. You will have to make sure that you change the Region and Language to USA and EN.

I know this is a free game guys... But several hours to install a program. I have a fast internet connection and a more than decent computer. Installing and re-patching for FOUR HOURS! The client download only took about 1.5 hours.. this is REDICULOUS. I'm not trying to be mean, but you think you could update your client download after it reached half a gig of them? I mean c'mon this is nuttz and makes me not even want to play. It's like this game is ooober hyped up and than I get upset with it right from the get go :S Anyhow the wait better be worth it or else i'm gonna go fill my sisters pockets with animal dung!

I feel your pain there. Developers are in fact working on a newer and faster downloadable version of the client. We hope to see it soon! And I think your sister's pockets should be safe :p

repair my problem plz

hello...
i have a very important problem in my game, when i log in i see my hero in bad form and i can resoruct my body to the resoruction place because the msg resoruction doesn't shown and i cant switch between the classes and more issue like i cant buy and when i play for 10 min the game will be closed and show message talk to send error to the gm i hope to understand my problem and take it in your command plz because i didn't play it from 3 weeks ago thx for your time to fix it..:)

Automatic/Manual patch download problem

The client autoloader is not downloading the below patches and the site will not allow me to download them manually(Each one gets to about 3% and stops):
CURRENT PATCHES
* patch_2.1.6.2073.en_2.1.6.2081.en.exe (20.6MB)
* patch_2.1.6.2065.en_2.1.6.2073.en.exe (20.7MB)
* patch_2.1.6.2049.en_2.1.6.2065.en.exe (29.8MB)

But I was able to download the following client last night:
Current Full Client Download (5GB+) version 2.1.6.2049


And just to test I was able to download the following files successfully today:
OLDER PATCHES
* patch_2.1.5.2050.en_2.1.6.2049.en.exe (304MB)
* patch_2.1.5.2036.en_2.1.5.2050.en.exe (20.0MB)
* patch_2.1.5.2028.en_2.1.5.2036.en.exe (19.6MB)
* patch_2.1.5.2010.en_2.1.5.2028.en.exe (23.4MB)

Are the current patches kept on a different server than the older patches?
