Game hangs and crashes on my system when I run under wifi.

I have a new "gaming" laptop. It has a 4GB Nvidia video card, 16G memory, and a 512 SSD.
My screen resolution is 4K... so I run ROM at at the highest resolution. Windows 10.

When I play on wifi, the game sometimes hangs...just kinda stops for a bit and then goes again.
More often lately, it crashes. Just dies and goes back to the main ROM sign-on screen.

Of course, I get that infamous memory warning ALL the time.

If I take the laptop to my hubby's office and use his hard-wire instead of wifi, I still of course get the memory warning, but the game no longer pauses or crashes. We tested to see if the wifi is weak, but even if I'm right next to the router, it still pauses and crashes.
Hubby thinks it's a memory leak (which I see in here that ROM has), but why is it all right when I'm directly wired, but not on wifi?

I have not heard of wireless being a issue

but I can suggest, somethings that we find that helps run better, if you are using the GF client, look on the forums, its been posted how to run without the GF client which lags it alot,... run your game in Admin mode, some of my people have win10 and find running it in compatibility mode for win7 gives them more stability, there are several free softwares to help with the memleak (I use CleanMem) you might want to check about increasing your virtual memory in your computer settings, this was a HUGE help for us, we were crashing about 3 times a hour, increasing that, we are down to about once a day...

maybe someone will have a suggestion about your wired/wireless, but these are a few suggestions for just having a stabler rom ^.^ Good Luck!

Wifi regardless if its cause this exact issue or not I must say can be terrible while gaming, I ended up having to get adapters as the router I use is 2 floor below my desktop.

These have worked really great for me and made my connection much more stable.

Either the computer or the router is having wifi issues, and is losing connection long enough for rom to notice. If other computers are having connections, it's a router issue. If just your laptop is having issues, it's a computer issue. (If it were a game issue, you would have the same problem when wired.)

Memory warning huh? Must be a Nvidia thing. There is a check box in your rom settings to turn this off.

Well since you have no connection issues using your hubby's computer I'd say the problem is somewhere between your pc's wifi and your router.

Some wireless devices can sometimes interfere with your computers wifi signal. Wireless mice, keyboards etc. So if you have everything else ruled out maybe check those out.

if its in your control, you could always try a different frequency for the WiFi, as something might be interfering.

My laptop is lagging bad as well. Pre Mithras I was at 40 fps now I'm lucky if I get 10 fps. I have done everything possible to fix this on my end, including a fresh install and plugging in an Ethernet cable. I now know it's this game as everything else is normal. Hopefully next weeks maintenance will fix it.

Fps isn't a factor of your Internet connection. It's a simple matter of what your computer can handle graphically. With more players on the server, your comp has a greater stress on graphics because it needs to load more, thus resulting in lower fps.
