I can't login to the main site anymore - what should I do?

Hello all,

I want to come back to RoM after many heart surgeries and wanted to buy diamonds, get my house in order (literally, all my furniture is going to have to be put back in place), and have some fun.

But - I tried to login to the site to do so, and it says account not found for my email/login name. Oh no....

What is the first course of action here? Do I register a new account? Would that just be more ocnfusing? I haven't tried to login to the game yet, because I can't buy diamonds yet.

What should my next step be? I don't want to make it worse, which is why I'm asking. I still have access to screenshots of my account; I have my secondary password; I have my administrator account information (login/pass, but it isn't letting me login with the email, so I'm stuck). Thanks :confused:

Be sure you're trying to log in to the website on the right region.

If you played on the US/AU servers, the drop-down selector at the top of the website should read for USA.
If you played on the European servers, make sure it's set to United Kingdom (or some other European region).

I definitely am trying the right one. It's funny to me that I used to wish I could successfully play comfortably (low latency) because of all the nice sales and the better economy (perceptions, perceptions). Now, all my friends have jumped ship to other North American servers. I am definitely in the US area when trying to login. :dash:

I'm just curious, how long has it been since you logged into the game? You know about the server merges and all the 'rules' that went along with keeping your account I hope?

If you haven't logged in for about 1 1/2 years I am guessing your account is gone. You had to have logged into your account sometime in the 12 months prior to the merge happening and then they had a small window of time that you could salvage your account after the merge, which naturally it over. I hope you didn't lose your account.

Accounts didn't vanish with the merge. Only characters who didn't meet the criteria.

If you can't get it work, please submit a ticket to support.

I refer to Polog's post (#10, the last one) on this thread:

Dear players,

We would like to remind you, that according to our Server Merge [News] , our support of transfer requests for notmerged game accounts will end soon.

If you like your account/character to be transferred into the merged server, please send a support request through our ticket system until 17th February 2016.
After this date we will delete not merged data and hence won’t be able to recover your account/character.

RoM Team.

So actually, accounts kinda did vanish. I know heaps of people who have this problem and they are all never coming back because of it. We didn't even get an email warning about it.
I hope the OP has managed to salvage his/her account :(

^ Actually, this bit was not a quote from Polog and is incorrect. Game accounts were not deleted - just unused characters.
Still, it's got to feel like a slap in the face to log in and see your characters are gone.

I hate to argue the point (not really), BUT Polog DID say account not just character. Also, if the account was there wouldn't people be able to log into them?
So maybe there was an error somewhere, but the point is, people's stuff is gone and no one wants to point out the why on here besides the players.
The CM's/GM's posted in February that after the deadline for salvage there was nothing that could be done and it seems that since that deadline came and went no one wants to admit to the fact that it happened.


Your stuff is most likely gone forever if you haven't logged in sometime in the last 18-24 months. Sorry but that is the truth and we all know it.

You are able to login but there will be nothing left and yes it feels like Yrcanos earlier said

Still, it's got to feel like a slap in the face to log in and see your characters are gone.

same thing, tried to login to the main site and couldn't login... it took me to the webpage (http://us.runesofmagic.gameforge.com/user/noaccess). if I enter the wrong username, it will say account doesn't exist, if I enter the wrong password it will say invalid password but if I enter the correct username and password it will take me to the above mentioned webpage and open up the login screen as if I was doing it for the first time (no mention of anything wrong or re-enter info)
