Clientupdate error Please Reboot Computer

Hello I have recently had a problem with ROM of older versions saying << download version.txt failed>> I have fixed this by adding the stroke into /windows/etc/host . Now that I installed the newest version of ROM I launched that and than I got a bar <clientupdate.exe> which loaded up to %100 and then it opened a window saying please reboot your computer. Everytime I was closing it it kept relaunching (the window - reboot your computer). And even if I rebooted my computer it again started from clientupdate and all again and again. What to do????

Hi there,

You said something about "RoM of older versions"....how old are you referring? If you attempted to install and patch an old version of RoM it may still have left traces of itself on your system somewhere. I suspect this to be the issue. Older versions of RoM don't patch very well due to the transition from Frogster to Gameforge.

You should remove all traces of RoM from your PC and try to download and install the files from Manual Downloads for the 6.5.2 RoM Client

Well I have delete all the older verisons both from windows components settings and manually. I am sure nothing is left. Well the thing is that when I installed it absolutely new from the downloader in a website and it still does this kind of problems.

If you follow the link Aqualink gave you, it will take you to manually download the game bypassing the web completely. Just follow the directions to the link he provided. Also make sure you remove the Gameforge Live Client before downloading.
