patch_7.0.2.2792.en_7.0.2.2794.en.exe problem

Iv'e played this game for years, iv'e encountered patch problems many times in the past, and with manual downloads have always been able to get around patching problems. But with patch_7.0.2.2792.en_7.0.2.2794.en.exe there is no result as to why the client itself does not download the patch fully.

I use Windows 8.1 Pro. The game client will not download the full patch, it stops around 227mb, manual download the patch stops around 227mb. So I tried in a HyperV fresh install of Windows 7 (default install no virus checker etc), download stops at 227mb, so I tried Windows 8.1 Enterprise in a HyperV install and it also has the same problem of stopping the download around 227mb. Mind you this is the client downloading, not via a browser. I will try IE or Opera or Chrome on those VMs as well, but one would think you should be able to rely on your client to correctly patch.

So there is a client problem with that patch or the hosting site has a problem with the patch, Has Gameforge even put up a new replacement for that file on the tagdocs manual patch ?, cause I can't even get a full download doing it manually.

Someone posted the patch on MegaNZ which I am downloading now. But this 'USER' Fix is not an acceptable way for GameForge to leave it. There is a problem there that should be addressed. I or anyone else should be able to patch the game plain and simple, not dive in to forums or use non GameForge sites to download patches or fixes.

It wasn't something I was going to bother posting about since I give up on the game a while ago, I am only trying to update the game now and log in cause an old friend wanted to play and I thought to log in and see what is new. But it is a sad state of affairs when GameForge know there is some ODD thing happening but have not looked in to it enough to make a solid fix.

I just think GameForge are not doing enough to find the issue.

Gameforge changed their patch server around the time this patch was done, is possible that this is causing the issue. But most likely it just got corrupted when being uploaded, and needs to be put up again.

Bottom line, it's past time for the publisher to produce another iteration of the full client, thus circumventing this problem (and others). We've asked for it multiple times. Time to poke again.

The fact that multiple patch servers exist because the game won't download properly and Gameforge refuses to fix it is the problem. When a new person wants to play the game and has major problems downloading it is one of the main reasons that there are very few new players. When a player has been playing the game for years and needs to reinstall it on a new computer and has to go to patch servers or has problems patching it on a regular basis is the reason that players quit and the population is going down. It all breaks down to the fact that Gameforge doesn't care about this game or the people who play it any more.
