Account and Password Error Possible Fix

Okay i started up my game today and kept getting the "Account and Password Error" After a little research, i have fixed the problem. I am going to explain what i did to get it to work. It may or may not work for you but it did for me.

Make sure the game is NOT running..

1. Go to your game dir (C:\Program Files\Runes of Magic)

2. Find and open "Runedev.ini"

3. Look for something looking like this...

[Server]
IP=rom-enus-srv.runewaker.com

or this...

[Server]
IP=rom-eneu-srv.runewaker.com

Now, if you have the US Version installed, it should look like the top one (US). However, I noticed in my "Runedev.ini" it somehow change to the bottom one (EU)

4. Edit the [Server] part in "Runedev.ini" to fit your needs, either "enus" or "eneu"

5. Save the .ini file

Okay here is the other strange part. I noticed that everytime i started the game RuneDev.ini would go back to the incorrect settings. The easy way to fix this is to right click on "Runedev.ini" and make it Read-only.

6. Right click on "Runedev.ini" and make it Read-only.

Thats it! give it a whack!

Im not sure if it will give me any problems in the future when another patch comes out, but at least now i can get into the game. (Edit: Does not effect Patching, Tested) I hope this little guide helps you guys out. :D

I've been playing on the eu servers and downloaded the client from the eu website but i want to change to us, do i need to download runes all over again from the us website? are they actually different versions? once i change IP to us i get account/password error, i tried just making a us account but that din't work.

Ok I had the same problem and the fix did work! However, every time I log into the game it error crashes as soon as my toon spawns and I get booted out of the game >.<

Thanks so much! :D Definitely fixed my problem. I was starting to get very discouraged.....

(When I went to change my runedev file, it said
IP=rasrv-gc.runewaker.com
but I changed it anyways and it worked.)

if i try to get to the c file it says open with but wen i do it never opens how do u get it working

if you culd help that be great cuz ive been doin this for a week now and im about to give up on the game.

you are a genius, thank you so much, it worked perfectly. That line of code on mine originally said this:

IP=rasrv-gc.runewaker.com

but just changed to wut u said. so if anybody else was also thinkin that they might be messin with the wrong line..well, here ya go.:D

problem

It did change to eu but now have that fixed and still getting same error. Anyone else having this problem? I emailed support but have got no reply yet just wondering if there were any other ideas out there.
