Rogue/Mage Elite Skills Broken

Title: Lvl 30 Elite - Day of Rain Lvl 70 Elite - Illusion Blade Dance

Both of the above skills have broken main hand dps %

Lvl 15 Elite - Enchanted Throw
Lvl 40 Elite - Life Rope Throw
Lvl 45 Elite - Create Opportunity


The above skills may or may not be working as intended.


Description: Day of Rain skill description shows 583% main hand weapon dps plus projectile damage, yet it does abnormally low damage when compared to Shadowstab which is only 477% main hand weapon dps. It seems that Day of Rain is only using the projectile portion of the skill description.

Illusion Blade Dance also appears to be experiencing the same bug as Day of Rain. Illusion is 450% main hand weapon dps, yet it does considerably less damage than shadowstab, which is nearly identical in dps% at 447%. (*Note - the crit damage and attack speed portion of the skill appear to be functioning, please don't break this in the process of trying to fix the main hand damage.)

These are the two main broken skills that heavily affect the playability of the rogue/mage combo.

The following skills may or may not be working as intended.

Life Rope Throw claims to reduce the interval time to .5 seconds, yet the second screenshot shows 1.5 seconds as the starting cast time. This skill may or may not be bugged depending on the interpretation of the skill description. If the interval time means the whole skill cast then it is clearly broken, but if it means per hit of each throw then I believe it is working as intended (as the first throw hits immediately, then each throw at each .5 second period afterwards ((1, .5, 0))).

The skill description is unclear as to whether or not normal attacks will use base level throw damage or the level of throw damage that the player has invested tp into. As of now I believe it is using base level throw damage which is not much at only 50% main hand dps.

Create Opportunity works by itself, but when used together with enchanted throw, it will cancel out all of the enchanted throw hits for the duration of this buff. Basically this skill is not useable in PVE content since a significant portion of rogue/mage damage comes from enchanted throw.


The main problems with the rogue/mage combo deal with Day of Rain and Illusion Blade Dance. Broken main hand weapon dps % heavily affects the playability of this combo as these are skills that can be used apart from the standard rogue base rotation. Other rogue combos benefit from working secondary and elite skills as they can continue to deal damage while energy is low, but r/m struggles in this context as the skills use only projectile dps and therefore do very little damage.

Forward this information as soon as possible.

Great analysis! I hope this is fixed, I have been excited to try out this combo, but the skills seem to "break" with every maintenance -_-

*ps stay away from the crit and attack speed calculations =p

Recent patch added capability to plus up Enchanted Throw with tp, but it doesn't actually change the dmg on the tool tip, nor increase the dmg of the skill.

Day of Rain %dps still broken.
Illusion Blade Dance %dps still broken.

When you plus enchanted throw, it requires more mana to apply to the toon. Everything else is the same.

Makes me think they tampered with it, but only half of what they were trying to improve got implemented.

Another maint, no word on if this is a known bug / been reported or not.

Enchanted throw still plussable, but no positive effect is known.

The effect when upgrading enchanting throw is that it upgrades the dmg of vengeance sting (the hit that the attacker takes when he attacks u). Although description of vengeance sting shows its passive and non-upgradable and fixed dps (around 50% i think), the dmg u do at retaliating attacks increases according to lvl of enchanting throw skill.

I yesterday rolled my 3rd class from war to mage, and did full tests before upgarding each skill, so this info is validated in combat.

And yes, the throw dmg part of enchanting throw is exactly the throw dmg at lvl 0 of throw skill, no matter what lvl u have upgraded throw.

The tests i ve made were from upgrading enchanted throw 5 lvls per time starting from lvl 0, up to lvl 50. Weapon applied and projs were the same at every test. No reason to swap weaps as the main reason for my tests was to find out "what" is upgraded with investing tps in the skill, and not "how much". At each test, the extra throw (lvl 0 unfortunately - tested too, since had already throw at lvl 0 as pre-r/s) dmg with white hits stayed the same. Only that changed was the retaliating attacks and there was significant change between every 2 tests (each test every 5 lvls of skill) which u cant miss. Also the tests were performed not by 1 value but as an average of more than 20 vengeance stings of same-type mobs for each skill-lvl.

To recap, what needs to be fixed (apart from the broken lvl0 throw dmg, the self-aoe-hit, the 70 elite, and the 45 elite buff) is the description of both "vengeance sting" and "enchanted throw". Atm, vengeance sting description represents the dmg of retaliation strikes as if u have enchanted throw at lvl 0, while no extra info is added on enchanted throw about its upgrade-benefits.

Seems to me that leveling up enchanted throw adds damage to vengeance sting at the same rate as leveling up throw itself.

So lvl 77 throw=319.5% dps, crit on a mob in chrysalia for about 190k
Lvl 77 enchanted throw makes vengeance sting hit for about 190k on chrysalia mobs

It's a pretty weird way for the skill to work/upgrade and no clue if it's intended or not.

edit: If you level up your enchanted throw very high it's gonna hurt like hell on 3rd boss in kbn.
I did some acn/cob first boss farming and was hitting the boss for about 850k with sting while cds were up, will definitely have to keep it off on 3rdkbn now.

Just wanted to keep this thread alive in hopes that this will get looked at. I think most R/M's have been patiently waiting for any news of our skills being fixed, but so far no luck. I would love to do my minigames, siege, or 3rd boss KBN with my enchanted throw on without Vengeance sting reflecting back on me and killing me -_- lol

lol last time i did a legit bug report it took a little over 5 months for a fix.

CC doesn't proc GCD, so don't put it in your script, but do put it in your macro.
