Morrok Quest Line In Syrbal is Bugged

Although I appreciate the mod's answer as to why the original thread about this was removed, I think it's also an easy way for GF and mods to ignore feedback on bugs. We've had this quest bugged since the original patch. I hope in all this time the problem was being looked at and not ignored simply because the OP did not use a template.

Title: Morrok Quest Line by the waterfall in Syrbal is bugged.

Description: Simply cannot accept quest from Morrok even though there is a yellow exclamation mark over his head. Only option is to leave conversation.

Version: 6.0.0.2647.en

Title:
Morrok Quest Line broken in Syrbal Pass zone near Lair Of the Ferosynn Dragons area.

Description:
There is an orange (or yelllow depending on how you view colors) "!" over Morrok when he is on top of the waterfall near the Lair Of the Ferosynn Dragons area. However, he is providing no quest when being selected. According to SmokeNasty187 (in one of the attached threads), it is supposed to be the "A Dragon's Prophecy" quest following turn in of "The Frost Dragon's Son" quest.

Server:
Reni, but I don't think that matters since people are complaining of this problem on other servers as well.

Version:
Current version as of this post. And for those support personnel that don't actually play this game or respond in a timely manner..."current" means 6.0.0.2647.en.

Screenshots:
I don't know how to upload using this forum software. Get limit reached with a simple 533kb zip file..

What has been tried already:
- Switching channels does nothing.
- Logging off/back on does nothing.
- Character level is at 80, so it is not a level issue.

I am not sure what the problem is, but lots of my guildies report that problem. 4 of my toons sailed through that with no problems, though. I must have some kind of addon (Streamline? Daily Notes?) that changed behaviour of quests. On all 4 of my toons, as soon as I completed the previous quest, the next quest pops right up, and it did in this case.

The way guildies described it is that after completing previous quest, they get taken out of conversation. At that point, Morrok has the quest, but they can't click on him and get his conversation option. So, my guess is that whatever causes the next quest to pop up right away without going through "end conversation", "start new conversation" step is reason I had no issues.

This was similar to Chrysalia problem with Evan Wright; I believe it was fixed eventually. Hope this will be soon, as this is main chain quest, not something one can ignore easily.

Speaking of addons, are the people experiencing this issue using any addons in common, and is anyone using no addons also experiencing the problem?

During one of Bluesons00 "Lets Play Runes of Magic" videos this exact problem occurs, see; Morrok Bug (youtube).

I have tried this on two characters, one with addons as per normal and one without, both times the bug occurred. The Frost Dragon Son completes and is handed in normally, the Dragons Prophecy quest pops up and clicking accept quest the window disappears with quest not accepted (something I've always found a common occurrence). Morrok shows the "!" over his head but interacting with him simply shows what appears to be the "check text" for a quest.

Hmmm.... I wonder why the difference. I rarely, if ever, get the situation where the next quest pops up, but accepting it does not succeed. My acceptance rates are either close to 100% or maybe even 100%.

I'm not sure, it's something I've gotten used to since starting playing RoM in Chapter II, and I know others have had the same issue. There are ways of knowing if it's about to occur, eg; should the quest have related rewards hovering the pointer will not show any preview -or- the preview will be inaccurate. Back then I wasn't using any addons and later on would've only been AAH, AQB and pbinfo. Only other possible difference I can think of is that I prefer to play in a maximised window.

It would be interesting to know if anyone who has successfully done this step in the questline did it by not accepting the quest on pop-up but by interacting directly with Morrok. It does feel like part of the code thinks you've already accepted and part of it doesn't.

Basically, the only thing I have to add is that I'm having the same problem on Palenque, except I noticed a "pause" in the game when I completed the previous quest. In other words, the game froze for a split second. I noticed this because there was motion (toon effects, moving objects in the background, etc) that stopped.

For me, I turned in the previous quest, and the window popped up with the next quest, however, I saw a noticeable "pause" in the game, almost like it stopped for just a split second prior to popping the next quest.

I was watching intently because a guildie had told me of this problem.

I clicked to accept the new quest, and the window went away, but as has been mentioned before, I did not receive the new quest, and subsequent attempts to recieve the quest have resulted in only have the "Leave conversation" option.

I do run add-ons, but I do not have an add-on that automatically accepts the next quest as Rustyx mentioned (at least I think that's what he said) so I don't know if that means anything or not. I also like to play the game in maximized window mode.

I wonder if those that completed the quest did so fairly quickly after the chapter release?

Update, my original supposition about doing the quest quickly after the chapter release has no bearing, as I just watched two of my guildies accept this quest and move on to the next quest in the line.

When is this going to be fixed?

When is the quest line going to be fixed? Myself and about a third of my guild are all stuck at Morrik waiting for a fix.

I did this quest on 2 of my toons and I have the streamline addon with the option to automatically accept the next quest active. I remember back in the Tundra zone there was a corpse on the ground that if you did not have that addon active that it bugged and the corpse vanished before the quest was accepted. So, whenever a new zone opens I am sure to have that addon working. It worked for me in this case and I was able to get past the bug, but both of the guildies who were in party with me got stuck there. Note: you have to have the addon installed, on and active to be able to get past it BEFORE you do the quest before the bugged one, installing the addon after he'll no longer give you the quest will NOT fix the problem.

Basically if you are given a quest to talk to Morrok and have to go through a portal to get to him and you do not have the addon installed and ready, DO NOT DO THE QUEST, you'll get bugged.

I have no addons at all, I play the game clean. However I find it almost impossible to follow the Morrok Quest line. There are so many problems with the quests in the line in almost every region, it is a complete fail. Why must the Quest line carry over from region to region when the previous region's quests are bugged. I have submitted multiple support requests and all get the same reply "we are aware of the problem and have sent it to the developers" but it gives me no help at all and I can't continue the line.
It is time to dump the idea of the quest line and let each quest stand on its own with the only requirement being the character level not previously completed quests.

I too am unable to finish the Morrok line, from where he is standing on top of the waterfall in Syrbal Pass. I play on Palenque server, and have been stuck at this quest since the 2nd day after Syrbal was released. I have tried logging in right after servers come up, tried with addons (how I usually play) tried deleting my addons and playing with a clean game, nothing works.

Why not try to actually fix a few things with this game before you start adding new content, forums, etc? There are other parts of this questline (in previous zones) which have been bugged for months now, and obviously you guys at GF don't seem to care that this game is dying a fast death.
