Is this supposed to be here?

Title: Is this supposed to be here?

Description: So I was running along Merdhin Tundra, avoiding the local trouble and occasional orbital bombardment... and standing right across from an almost-identical but otherwise much more proper-looking castle-thing was this one that looked incredibly out of place for some reason!
...Seriously though, it looks like the textures for this weren't exactly up to par, and it being lodged right in the middle of the lake where according to the map, the road was, really made me wonder.

Version: 6.0.2.2664.en

Hiya,

Apparently there was an issue with a previous patch that caused this texture issue.
It is supposedly fixed now, but would probably require you a reinstall.

I found a post from Yrcanos related to this:

I'm told the 5.0.5 client has the corrected textures included for "Bingo Mountain" yet those textures appear to be absent in the 5.0.4 to 5.0.5 patches. This means that the patched-up 5.0.0 client has a "Bingo Mountain" whereas the patched-up 5.0.5 client does not.

Hope this answers your question :)

This is what I get for being behind in the game, haha. I actually think it's a little endearing, feels like an easter egg but if it's a must-have fix I can tackle it.

I myself haven't bothered fixing it and game is fine.
That said, it is your choice :)

In short, the only way to fix this is to use one of the newer installers.
A real sysadmin knows how to change the time.
If you make the same mistake while trying to make up for the previous one, you are doing something wrong.

As much as I'd love to say I offer consulting services, the scope of things broken is too large.

Seems a bit ludicrous that you have to do a brand new install... RW isn't able to do a proper patch, good to know that you guys have such an adapt developer over there, right?! I wish they knew how to program/code better than a drunk, high, retarded monkey that is currently trying to have coitus with a football...

The main issue is that they keep making new installers and think that is ok.
First there was the full client, then there was the slim client, then there is the gameforge live client which seems to have gone through at least 2 changes
I can understand wanting to have a fresh client for each new chapter to cut down on the days of updating but it's as if they have a new team every 6 months.

Clearly, you miss the fact that I download & re-upload the non-GameforgeLive installer to Filefactory and Depositfiles and provide thoise links along with links to the Original download files here: Manual Downloads for the 6.0.1 RoM Client

Originally, there was 1 version of the game client and this was always renewed every 4-6 months.
The slim-client was introduced to allow people with slight lesser capable PC's to play too.
As the game grew, there was eventually no real difference between the slim & regular clients, so the slim client was dropped.
Now, we have only one client again and it's tied into the Insanely-awful GameforgeLive program. Heaven only knows why because GFL is complete and utter [removed]* - hence the non-GFL download links I provide.
I also provide FF & DF mirrors for the patches but these are only being made available in the EU thread for whatever reason: http://board.eu.runesofmagic.com/board41…r-5-and-beyond/

I call it "The Big Rock Candy Mountain". I'm old enough to remember the song itself, as done by various performers around the middle of the last century. (I grew up in the '50s and '60s, so yes, I'm an Old Fart.)

Wikipedia history of the song: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Rock_Candy_Mountain You can also Google the song title for YouTube videos and the lyrics.

TBRCM showed up when MT was released and, as has been related, the texture error was corrected with the 5.0.5 client release. I haven't bothered to reinstall my game, so the colorful mountain(s) remain in the game for me. I kinda like it.

If you are bothered by its appearance and the majesty of its coloration, reinstall the game using the latest installation files. Otherwise, it does no harm.

So in IRC today, we figured out why RW is so bad at programming... they are just bad at math.

at first it was though that RW believes 1+1=3, or 5+8=6, or 2+7=6

But then I was able to determine that in actuality they base their code off the math principals that red+12=truck, or that 4-cup=egg, and just when you think you have it all figured out, there is an algorithm that changes the actual base code of RoM itself based on the math (buick + 7 - napkin) * cookie = toe

Rusty draws the line on music that has "Written in 18xx" on it. Well, popular music, at least.

I miss Bingo Mountain. It was fun. Then it was gone and it was boring. Then we had white Chinese dragon doing rampage where mountain was, then we found out it was Bankelemos, then he was gone. He was fun, but now it is boring again. Lets bring either mountain back, or the next escape from future zone.

At least the boob girl is still around. She is, right? Haven't checked in a while.

There she is. Never run to her myself, though, but I bet she is still around.

Technically, the video violated the TOS/EULA and I have to remove it just as I had to remove it when Bluesonss00 originally posted it.

do you think you could convince them to change their rules about venturing into undeveloped areas due to the fact that runewaker keeps putting cool things to find (sometimes more interesting than current content) in those zones, exploring is fun and when you find something like a secret weapon agg or a land picture, its something everyone hopes to be the first to find someday, however new unfinished zones should definitely be off limits, i just think the older ignored areas should be free roaming
