game resets my audio and video settings every time

Title:
game resets my audio and video settings every time
Description:
every time i click the PLAY button to start up runes of magic. i always have to adjust my settings to how i want them to be. at the start it was no problem because i thought it would be fixed. but now its getting annoying and its been about 4-6 months with no fix.

my screen resolution is usually set to 1980X1080

and my audio, everything is usually off. but every time i turn on the game. its blasting through my speakers and really annoying lol :-(

if anyone knows something that would help me fix this problem please let me know, ive thought about re-downloading the game but I'm looking for a different fix.

thank you

Try adjusting these settings from the game launcher (where you click "start game" you can also adjust video and audio settings). If this fails to work you can manually go in and alter the files that save these settings, but you will need to search the forums for information regarding this (it is posted somewhere, but I am unsure where so try search).

yeah i have the same problem but it's tolerable on my end here's a list of my main problems i have when i log on
  • Resolution doesn't save, I'm constantly having to change it from the highest setting.
  • Shadow and Terrain Shader never saves (off)
  • Sound Options Never Save, my Logoff place usually is Silverfall after i do gobs, not a pleasant Zone soundtrack to be loading into.
I would say, if your experience is similar to mine, I'm sure we can willpower through it. Trick is to do it alot and eventually it'll turn into more of a habit.

But, During this time that i'm submitting this reply, I'm going to try to save my settings this very instant and scratch off the failures. Hopefully i can have an answer for this.
  • Making sure the Save to Server Option is turned on when i log in at the server select. (Result: Box is unchecked everytime i log in)
  • Changing settings, Hitting "Exit Game" (Result: No luck on setting save)
  • Changing settings, Returning to Select Toon Screen, Settings are saved re-entering. Exit Game. (Result: Settings did not save my next loggin)
  • Changing the Configuration on the Client Start up to all the way down settings. Only thing it got right was that i had "Window Mode" checked. Visual/Sound Settings did not change.
Well.. i tried ?(

Game settings don't save properly from within the client for whatever reason for some people. This seems to be common for client installs that come after a specific date and I suspect a Windows Update somewhere changed the way in which file and folder permissions are handled.

If you start the launcher "as Administrator", you can use the launcher to set your game settings & they will save. Some people also have found the client saves settings when started as an Administrator.

In my own experience, the Server Save option only save the info contained in the base, addonless dialog it is found - i.e. Character-Specific. It doesn't store video, audio or addon settings and the settings it does store are re-downloaded from the server each time.
