I think the "exploiting" of Owenstein was likely players buying certain offered items on five accounts everyday. You figure, he's up for a week, right, so you can buy a maximum of 7 items, times 5 accounts, means a person could theoretically have acquired 35 puris for 27 million. At normal diamond and CS prices, that would normally cost $55.55. Puris are not tradeable, but mana stones ARE. Whether they were made into clean stones, or Crimson stats, they were both tradeable and sellable. I didn't do this, because I needed the puris themselves, but people with plenty of gold and plenty of time could easily take advantage of the system.
Besides, even though we gave Swag a hard time, at least he cared about the community. If the community told him inflation was a problem (diamond/gold exchange went up over 500%), he did something. It was kind of too little too late, but he did start getting gold buyers banned, and tried to keep us informed. When that wasn't enough, he got Owenstein put in as a placebo, which kind of made everything better until inflation finally stabilized. At least he tried to understand us, and did the best he could to address our concerns.
