Server Migration

How much do you want to bet they have been moving all of the files for the past 3-4 days CAUSING all the problems we've had.

You seriously need to learn how to manage your data centers and actually HIRE a real server admin.

There's a reason why the servers are going to be down for ~12 hours--the servers are moving to a new data center, and the server data is moving with them.

I got kicked out from SW to the log in screen 1 minute before it ended.
I mean... come on! :(

Siege was especially slow today. Click on a skill, 10 seconds later, it responds. I hope this is actually going to be "fixed".

Kalvan is there any words on getting the server population up for Grimdal and Indigo or anyways to fix it?

Hopefully with the server data migration, the game will run smoother with less crashes. I'm willing to wait for as long as it takes if they can fix a problem like this. I see this as a promising direction for the future of this game... unless they're moving the data to an even slower server... then it'll just be all bad baby, all bad. Oh, and I'm praying that it doesn't cause entire character wipes >,<

BTW, it wouldn't be a bad idea for that whole Grimdal & Indigo server merger to take place... most are re-rolling on Indigo anyway...

Finaly they are moving to a better server farm. Hopefully it will fix a lot of problems that have been plaguing us. As far as lag goes though, sopme of yall need to turn your graphics settings DOWN. Check you ping from your computer to the servers and then if it is extremely high you can blame toe servers on lag. But if it is low (between 55-150) you really need to turn your graphics settings down.
Kalvan it woulld be a big help to all of us if you could post on how to check our ping from the servers to our computers. Doing this should lighten up a lot of the support tickets that can be attributed to players having their graphics settings WRONG. I am on my laptop right now and do not have the program I use to check my ping on it.

Is there a way to move the in-game ping meter (which opens with Control-X) elsewhwere in the window? Right now it shows up in the bottom center of the screen, which is covered by my hotbars. :)

Install the new xbar, it has ping (and many many other useful at-a-glance tidbits), including ping. Extremely useful, check it out... that is, when the servers are back up :)

With a move this large, do not expect them to have everything up and running in 12 hours, I am wagering they will not be up before Friday, but if it fixes some things I can live with that ;)

Agreed. I'd rather have them fix the problems then cause more, and it looks liek they changed the servers location due to my ping getting better. from 93 to 63! score.:cool:

We just moved the game to a different set of servers at a new site. We didn't move players and accounts to different servers! You'll have to recruit people for the PvP servers...

Which Xbar? I have Xbar III installed, but I don't know if I have the latest version or not. :)
