According to the traceroute it is now in a company called Vault Networks, located in Florida.

I don't understand how a lot of you are having ping issues.

My ping went from 330 (average) to 250 average.

Considering that I live a few thousand kilometres (miles) from the server.

my vote goes for anything that makes sekrit slower so that the rest of grimdal can catch up.

We've noticed it to... I went from 90 to 60 ping, and friend of mine is at 35 now. (closer to Florida)

We have guildie who lives in Texas, but his ping has increased (double)? (I always was under impression that Florida and Texas are close to each other :))

LOL at MrMister... how do you play with that high ping?

I'm in Texas too, I didn't notice any increase in ping - pretty steady standards, 62ms-78ms doesn't bother me. As for distance it's about 6-800 miles border to border. Definitely not so far for lagging.

I always have ... it's not that bad actually. It's only 0.25 second delay.

Trying playing DOTA with that ping though, it gives you pro skills.

Force is strong with this one, he senses enemy moves before they happen. :)

Back to server location, why Florida? Why not area that is not badly effected by hurricanes?

Because it's Froggy EU and they don't have to deal with hurricanes/typhoons so they didn't think it through.

I was soo happy to see my ping go from 95 to 45. I could not wait for siege last night, and then the server gremlins escaped from their crates during the server transfer. Lets see what it is like tonight.

Pretty sure we don't have major earthquakes on a yearly basis. And the last one that happened in Northen California that did major damage was 1906?

I'm sure that huricanes, rain, etc happens on a yearly basis down in Flordia though.

And my ping has gone up from 30-35 to around 70-95 with spikes of up to 1,200 that I remember.

I'm down in Louisiana and my ping went from 78 down to about 45. So it has gotten closer. My assumption is that they may have moved it around New York maybe???

My ping went from 31ms avg to 90-115. Effectively tripled my ping. Not particularly favoring this move.

I too am one who has benefited from the server move. My ping has been cut in half.
That said, I feel for those effected, but you all have to realize that when the servers were located in California, us in the East were in your shoes and lived with it.

Shut up Craigers! California is the best state! :P

I'm just not sure why it went to Flordia though with all the unpredictable weather there. In Cali, especially around the LA area it's always the same, winter or summer :P

Not sure why Frogster doesn't employ load balancers, one on the east coast and one on the west coast.
