Game worth it?

Ok, so I haven't got to start playing this game "yet" because of technical issues downloading the game. But I just want to know if this game is worth it? I'm not saying this game is bad so plz don't think I am :p. I'm just wondering if I should keep trying to get it to download. I've been trying to download it now for like a week with no luck. So I just want to know your points of view of the game. Would this be considered a WoW replacement or not? I saw some videos on it and it seems almost like WoW and that's what i'm looking for.

RoM is commonly called a WoW replacement. I've never been a WoW person, but I like RoM. IMO, it is definitely more than just a WoW clone. There are problems, certainly, but RoM is still one of the better free-to-play MMORPGs. I can't know whether it's the game for you, but I certainly would not consider RoM a waste of time.

Oh ok, good. I'll definitely keep trying to get it to download. I saw on youtube people saying that this is a pay to win game. Is that only pvp or everything? I've never been one for pvp so if that's the case then it won't bother me at all.

At endgame and in PvP it definitely tends to be a pay-to-win. It is possible to enjoy all content 100% free, but it mostly depends on how much time you have.

There are many Patches and it takes about 8 hours to get them all.
In the end, it will be worth the wait.:D

I would say that this game overall is worth it, in the last week we have had some trying times with siege war but overall its a good and fun game. To play the game you do not have to pay at all. To be the best in the game more then likely you will have to pay. You can be end game, without paying a dime but it first depends what is end game to you. If you can fight all the mobs, go in all the instances but are not the best person in your guild or the server then yes you can do it without spending any money. But if you want the latest weapon and armor more then likely you will have to spend real money to get it. I hope you download the game and enjoy the fun.

Well it looks like i won't be playing for a while till they get the client download fixed. I've tried everything that i was told to do and nothing is working so I guess I'll just have to wait and play WoW till then.

No I've never rly cared on any game trying to be the best. If I can have fun still while still doing good dps or healing or whatever I'm fine. Thanks for the input guys. I'll will start this game when everything gets fixed. So I hope it isn't long lol.

If you describe your problem, someone might be able to help. BTW, the patcher runs multiple times, and sometimes it can feel like it is stuck. In most cases it is still working, even when the %complete bar seems not to be moving.

If you don't have a "I need to be the best!" mentality then you will be fine. I don't really have that mentality either...I just play and if I'm satisfied with where my character is and if I can play the content, then I'm good to go. I've been mostly f2p in RoM for over 2 years... spent some $$ here or there kind of like a donation to say thanks... But overall, I've done all my gearing and statting and enhancing and leveling all via f2p methods.

But, as BJHawk mentioned, it is all about time invested. Simply putting in 1-2 hours each day won't really get you anywhere... When I was playing RoM hardcore as my main MMO I put in like 8-10 hours each day...or more on weekends. It definitely is do-able. You don't need the "best" gear in order to play all the content (unless you're looking to do bleeding edge, just-released-2-hours-ago endgame content). Best tip is to take advantage of all your gearing options; do your dailys every day, do your mini games, do public events, run some instances. I think you'll be fine. :)
