Equipment Attribute-Purifying Stone Question

Ok this stone makes no sense to me even after reading the "How to" guide.

Here's my problem.

Quoted

Drag & drop a piece of equipment of your choice into the top field, which will display the equipment’s attributes. Then select the attribute which you would like to remove and click ‘Confirm’..

What exactly are these "attribute" I nice explanation would be nice, is it the ghost stat, the stats added, runes or a hidden stat that doesnt show up on info window. And this is further confusing by the next statement.

Quoted

The Equipment Attribute-Purifying Stone is consumed in the extraction process. Only added attributes can be removed from equipment. The default attributes remain intact.

What attributes that were added? can we add attributes now too for them to be removed later? and what are the default attributes?

I am grateful for the nice how to guides, but please be more thorough next time. It jsut seems this stone takes advantage of aspects of the game that dont really exist or maybe the terms used are not what players use for their everyday usage.

Any more details on this would be much appreciated. Since guide are meant to be detailed, not a web of vagueness that leaves you more confused than before you read it.

I'm confused too. I wonder if there isn't a localization/language problem with the post they made. The images and description seem like the 'rune extraction' system (I access that from the gear in the bottom right corner in the UI in game). But the 'attribute purifying stones' that I know from the cash shop wipe off all the stats ('aka attributes') from a piece of equipment.

Is this a new feature using the same name as an pre-existing item?

From main site:

'Only added attributes can be removed from equipment. The default attributes remain intact.'

Not so sure if this will be helpful, or how different it is form rune removal from gear. (which costs only gold, not dias)

I have been over at the EU forums and apparently they think the Equipment Attribute item is great. Link: https://forum.runesofmagic.com/showthread.php?t=443110
If you take a piece of gear with one stat on it and use the item, you get both a clean piece of gear + a mana stone with the extracted stat.
They look like they are going to be on sale for this weekends sale, so we shall see.
One caveat though..apparently they aren't stackable :(

ps...puries on sale over there too :)

the "extract one random attribute" stone is great. => clean item + stat. if you dont need the cleaned item => clean t5 + stat/crap t5. for one puri, one random stone, 2 charges... :)

i dont see a use in the "clean ONE attribute" stone at all, though. But maybe thats just me.

Is it more expensive then puri?

7

Friday, February 3rd 2012, 3:22pm

Looks like bad terminology... Attributes are stats and "default attributes" are ghost stats, the way I read it.

EU thread says that stone is 39 dias, which, if previous weeks are any indication, would be US price as well. More expensive than puri, sure, but if you can get clean item and the stat on T5 stone from one 39 dia purchase, that is cheap.

Oh, and people who have more than 3 classes are clinically insane.

Not sure if I got it wrong, but you need puri as well with new stone if you like to keep that bad stat., So price if higher (39 dias + 25 for puri)

Yoman, am i correct?

39 dias for the random attribute extraction stone here.
a single puri without any offers is also 39 dias here.
(puri daily offer is usual 20, 8pack puris are 24,8....=> 25 per... 20pack is 19,5 per.... etc)

The other one costs the same as a full cleaner, which is...dunno... uhm...useless?
I just dont get that stone anyway. Why would i want to CLEAN (i do not get the stat on a stone) a SINGLE stat from an item (and then replace the cleaned with another? i need 3 stones of the items tier again ... so its only worthwile for items that stay t4/t5 ...like...wings?)

Usage Example for the Random Extractor:

Lets say you pull a piece for mementos that you want to wear. You pull 2 times. 1x OD, 1x UD.
As usual, mem items have crappy stats that we need to get rid of.

[For Items Lvl68+ PURPLE!]
Diamonds are EU values...

UD:
Item + Random Attribute Extraction Stone = Clean Item + Manastone Tier 5 with the Crappy Stat
Clean Item + Puri => Clean T5
--------------------------------------
1x Puri, 1x Random Attribute Extraction Stone, 2 Transmutor Charges
= 1x clean T5 , 1x crap t5 (to use as another clean one)

OD:

Item + Random Attribute Extraction Stone = Clean Item + Manastone Tier 5 with the Crappy Stat

=>
Clean T5 + 2x Crap t5 + Clean Item
Cost: 1 Puri, 2 Random Extraction Stones, 3 Charges.
Cost in Dias with current offer this weekend: 24,875+39+39+1+1+1 Dias = ~106 Dias.

/me likes

The whole point of the RANDOM extractor is that you get to keep item AND stat.

So, yes, the random stone costs a bit more than a puri and gives you (for items with ONE stat because one stat to choose randomly where only one exists...... ;)) the item AND the manastone, without an additional puri.

Thank you for clearing this up.

I like the idea. Have OD gear with crap stat, so this will help.

Looks like it will be on sale this weekend. Siobhain posted this on EU:

"Yep, me and guildie just tried. Single-statted item gives clean item + 1 stat MS. So not only is it a cleaner, but u can get 2 T5 MSs from a single trash stat......one as above and one clean T5 from the clean item + puri (just tried). "

So you get the stat, then a cleaned item to puri or use.

It won't remove stats that came with the gear.

E.G. If a mento piece of gear comes with an x/mdef stat on it from the vender, you won't be able to do this to get rid of that stat.

Hence the

It will. On of our healers did it with the memento ring just a hour ago.

The explanations dont use the same terminology the gamers use. I think "added attributes" are the 6 stats that fit on any item. Does not matter if one is added by the vendor or by you. What its meant to say is that is does not touch the green stats without names we call "nonstats" "blindstats" or "ghost stats".

One other thing about the random attribute extraction stone is you will always get a t5 stone, lets say you put a 3 crimson stats on a lvl70 purple gear and then you extract them, you will save some puris in the pricess to make t5's

Most people find useless the 199 dia one, but i found great. instead of waiting weeks to get an annihilation of hero, i will just use another stat for now, when i get the stat i want, i extract the one i dont like and put the annihilation on place. This way i dont get 10 pieces on bank waiting for 1 stat only, i will have 10 pieces almost perfect statted whcih i iwll make it better later.

-> Bufferboy (Druid 70 / Warden 72 / Scout 51) [US-Artemis]

How do you plan to add that one stat? With 2 clean MS as well?

Not to mention, what do you plan to do with Tier of gear?
