Radiant Arcana

Anyone here fluent enough to actually play the original Asian version of RoM? Google translate of their pages is weird. Just wondering what are the major differences... there's items in ItemPreview that show lvl 100 lol... and how in the world are they able to carry around gear for all 6 classes per character when we ourselves r suffering with trying to gear 3 classes due to not even having a 3rd class equipment page. Do they have 6 equipment pages or permanent backpack/bank pages in cs or what?

Speaking of which, they should be a permanent item, not a gasha item only =( There was a package deal last yr that guaranteed Page III, but too bad I already had that page unlocked... they never offered any other pages other than in gashas =(

I would like to know too, i tried doing my own research some months back but lacking the understanding of the language makes it tough getting anywhere.

I just want the gasha for the backpack IV slot -I have all the other ones, just IV is left. Then perhaps, gashas for permanent bank space? The mind boggles.

I look forward to getting a fourth class, 6 makes it a grindfest. But Four is a world of possibilities!

depends on how their CS functions really, the original RoM game isn't taken cared of by Frogster...Frogster just takes care of EU & US servers. maybe their puris are way cheaper or their dia/gold exchange npc totally rules? lol

think that's where Frogster originates not Runewaker...Runewaker is based in Taiwan; original RoM without Frogster is called Radiant Arcana over in Asia, hence why the bottom of all RoM pages say "© "Radiant Arcana" is the copyright and trademark of Runewaker Entertainment Corp.. All rights reserved." on top of the line that says "© "Runes of Magic" is the copyright and registered trademark of Frogster Online Gaming GmbH. All rights reserved." blah blah

Well like 3 months ago, they offered an upgrade/jewels package (sneaky them, it was listed not in the Weekly Deals or Daily Deals, but it was the category under that, Special Deals or whatever, it was, none of my guildies saw it until I pointed it out), that guaranteed Backpack Page III Permanent ticket, it wasn't a gasha, if u brought it, u got it along with upgrading jewels & stuff... It was labeled as a Jewel package, & the guaranteed bonus was the bkpk ticket III...it was super cheapo too, like 300 dias... (beats blowing 1000 dias on failed gashas when I could've rented like 3 yrs worth of bag space for the same amount) that's what I want available but I already had a Page III Permanent from gashas offered mid-year last yr, unfortunately they never offered any other packages for other Backpack Pages; only offered gashas for the other ones.

Just because the game was made in Taiwan does not mean that the Taiwan version of the game is at the current level and everything else that we are.

Currently they're at the level 60 cap, they're allowed as many classes as they want if they buy the itemshop item that allows for a class extension and they have +20 jewels in the item shop.

A lot of the TW players play on the american servers since we're more updated than them.

I believe the taiwan RoM is a bit dead. As far as I can find on google, the "newest info" for the Taiwan RoM is the release of Aostula Volcano (or however that is spelled). RoM in China are still in chapter 3, according to the China RoM site.
So no level 100 over there or anything, as for gear, I really don't know. Never played Chinese RoM.

Unfortunately RoMs built with the idea you have hit players hard in the wallet, the model is not built for longevity. When all publishers of RoM realize a cheaper game makes for more paying players, then this could be one of the longest and best MMOs ever.

Another problem is Runewaker has quit RoM, dragon prophet is the baby now, don't for a second think they won't do a duel class system along with the pet system. Frogster refused to publish this game, but Aeria picked it up fast. An excited Runewaker is a fantastic idea company, while their execution lacks, their vision and creativity is brilliant.

Best question, will there be a chapter 6?

RW isn't just going to quit with ROM. ROM's ranked among the top free MMOs, and will probably be up there for a long while - even if Dragon Prophet or whatever is better.

You don't give up something with such high rankings amongst your competitors.

It's not dead they're just in no particular hurry to reach 70 cap, the TW company that started liscensing RoM did so AFTER Frogster did.

As far as I know the oldest servers are the EU ones.

Hmm... if this is the case, you would think they would take the comments of the NA and Euro player base more seriously. I always figured that they seemingly ignored whatever feedback they recieved because they were making the game for an Asian audience. Now I can only conclude that RW has simply placed their thinkers firmly in thier stinkers...

original RA is made for an asian audience (its a heavy grinder like all the other asian f2p games...) , what we know as Runes of Magic has been changed specifically for the rest of the world

Have to disagree with you there, Runes of Magic is more in the vein of American MMOs in terms of grinding (look at that Blizzard game as an example, it's probably what RoM was designed after), heavy focus on quests and less focused on mobs.

Look at pretty much any KR game and most of the time you'll be spending will be focused on killing mobs repeatedly, for hours on end, hell sometimes I miss that kind of world, it was simpler and they spent more time refining classes and such.

I'd almost like to think that Storyline is a product of EU/America as a whole though that's not entirely true, just EU and Americans were more grandiose about it.

uhm. yes. but thats what i wrote? RA ( = Radiant Arcana) is the grind-heavy version which is a lot like all those asian games. Runes of Magic is based on it, but has been changed to focus a more western audience (more quests, less grind-fest)

As far as I have seen there's no proof that this wasn't developed to be similar to WoW, I mean I can ask if the TW equivolant is more grindy to one of my friends, but I don't think it is.

I think Runewaker's aim was the Americas then spreading out internationally, there's a lot of money to be made from the American audiences and there's already a lot of competition in terms of games already developed out there.

That is actually not true.

The EU servers have always been a lot more successful then the American counterpart.

Same thing would apply to any other zone.

I am not sure how RA is to the Taiwanese but I do know that it is a grindfest.

America is not the entire world.

You would be surprised how little Americans spend compared to the Europeans and the Russians.
