Runes of Magic US / AU

Being farmed for my quest items by supremely higher levels on a pvp server, pretty much guaranteeing that I would never reach higher level content. Glad they finally implemented that "neutral doesn't drop" ​rule for the new players, but it sure would've been nice when I was strugling to come up.

for me it was just exploring, walking around taborea for good looking water spots, you will not believe how happy i was when i found out there are underwater creatures in CoO, ive wished in every game i played to have something there that could attack u while ur swimming underwater, and found it in this one i probably spent an hour cruising under that water, under ships, around monsters in water and etc... i wish there was a random creature coming out randomly when ur in water and 1hko you, it would add that fear factor to swimming, you know one u cant kill but its just randomly appearing and killing you but not always only like RANDOM VERY RARELY, idk would be fun... also the lasting love to jumping off waterfall cliffs with my horse i think best one ive been to is also in CoO near heffner and one near makeshift camp

so ye for me it was just pointing out to myself that nice swimming system is in this game

I remember how little I understood the game when my main was a baby. Heck, my second kill of the game past tutorial was the mushroom in Pioneer's colony, and it dropped a cavy. When I got the message about how I should hurry and set up hunter trap, I started running around the starter village in panic, trying to find out what the heck that was all about.

And then my first death, which was when I attacked a funny looking mushroom nearby, without looking at him carefully. And it was ... the extra rare and elusive mushroom king.

These days an alt can breeze through Howling Mountains in about half an hour, without twinking of course. Back then it was... not quite as easy. Heck, it took me longer than half an hour to figure out that I can get off the starter horse by means other than running into a lake.

Temple of mysteries! O.o no? anyone well then >_> i loved being in seige at lvl 55and having to hae a group to take down the seige ehicles and ud get you whole guild on the closeest seige ehicles, if they rescaled the gates building and ehicles minus the lag and d/c's it'd be extremley fun.

I miss the great people who use to play on our server, "the greats" " the legends" and the guilds.

Great guilds that will be missed.. Oath, Dragonforcex, Highrollers, Envy, Benevolent and Nerfed.

Lolz vfwiffo, I couldnt figure out how to get off starter horse either. My fondest memory was struggling is ystra killing things, then spending a few hours researching dirty statting. After numerous failed attempts i finally got a couple pieces with 3 green x's on them and started 2 shotting the mobs I imagine anyone new to the game doesnt even know what ystra is o.O Btw you can get some free puris if you quest through there....google it

have to say when some moron raided all the vent servers to do VN..the day BEFORE it was fixed! (k the moron only read the title of the patch notes saying it was fixed, i didnt actually open the post)

hours of trying to get 20 bugged crevices controlled..and finally, androlier comes up, goes to first add phase and BAM! the instant server crashed. 31 accounts locked and frozen in limbo and some seriously freaky stuff starts happening in 1 channel of veranus. WIN! (still have the hatemail )

back in the day probably the first time i TS kited HoS,,,when it took at least 3 discharge monkeys for a run to even start. 1 touch and you get 1 shot kiting. soooo intense. (then tagan, likely the person responsible for mage nerfbat number 1 and 2, shaking his head over my corpse when i sneezed or something "you almost had it paz, but try TSing the actual mobs next time and we can get past this first pat..nub")

or, definitely the 1st time i killed shizz in arena way back in the day. he was afk...but still. it was shizz, even afk im surprised he didnt kill me somehow.O.O

getting my first actual clean yellow stat drop was a big thing too. sooooo rare to see

Anyway, my favorite memories...

Being one-hit repeatedly by the Goddess of Art's Disciple in KS, til we figured out the barrel thing.

The night of Noto's first siege, when we were all nublets. One guildie had been in another guild and had a clue and tried to teach me to kite guards by having me run in circles around a tree. "No, a little bigger!" she said. Heheheh.

We had some scary guild and they walked up to the gates and said "Hey you, come closer. I won't hurt you"

I was like... hmmm, ok.

Rogue shadowstepped me, one hit my whole guild, raped the gates with what looked like a hotdog on a tripod (remember those?) and capped our crystal in say, 20 minutes? Lol, good times. We figured it out eventually.

I remember having to use flame towers to kite the guards away so we could cap towers. I remember when making catapults was relevant. I remember getting one hit by EVERYONE and thinking that man, maybe when I have 20k hp I'll be able to live long enough to hurt someone. Lol again

I remember learning DoD back in the day, when you had to watch for X's on the floor, cleanse the tank from fear, silence Annihilation Attack and run away from fire and ice. When you actually had to grab a shield. That was fun, and bless Chromo for being so patient. I remember him telling us, don't worry- 6 jumps isn't that bad. Lol.

I remember Sirloth for the first time, so huge and scary in that massive space. I remember Gestero when he was scary and we had to use his little bubbles to live. I remember my first kill in SW. I think it was an accident lol.

So many awesome memories.

My first start was on Osha, and took me a bit to figure out area and why I had to go trough damn tunnel every time I had a quest outside of starting area. Finally figured out how to get to Varenas, got lost and never figured out how to get back.

Re-roll as human on Reni and tried 3-4 different class combo. Read a lot about R/S, but did not like it, took Knight/Mage instead. (something about survivability)

Took me a long time to figure out how to use 'Recall' button.

And yes, Beruda-Lize (aka Borrofar) was scary monster, had to go with twink and kill him just to revenge some of deaths while collecting pawns for daily quests. (today that twink is playable alt with honor title 'Master of Bear King'. )

Finally clearing Cyclops with the guildies after several days of trying to figure out how to get past that pesky second boss >.>

@gigi, Temple of Mysteries was a nice place to explore, unfortunately, I never seemed to find out it's purpose, other then looking amazing. May have to run by there today and give it another look

When they first released it it was an isntance, and they replaced it with clops.

Memories!!!! OH memories!!!

My earliest are of hoto, when I was not in a guild and would repeatedly pug and had no idea what I was doing as a r/k nooblet. Stun the mobs with poison dagger? WTF is that?

Shortly after I joined Taintedblood and they dragged me on my first hos run and Vrantal droped a 109 dura Aesi dagger that I won the roll on. For the next week all I did was farm the chicken for purples. It was my first solo and this is when I began to understand the concept of "grinding," outside of going to a club.

Found memories of when my in game wife used to log on and actually raid!!

I miss killing hundreds of people on Grimdal with 8 pieces of gear during the Dalanis Events, so much fun to kill 30+ people and find a piece of gear on the ground.

Many things, looking back I was such a noob.

1) Choosing s/d so I could heal myself...partially worked
2) Switching to d/s because it was an awesome healer-found out I could heal-tank most elites
3) Sieging in a 1k point guild consisted of who could kite the tower guards the longest
4) Learning the hard way that sometimes it isnt the best idea to stay near others when fighting bosses in NoM
5) Madcat leaving Wanted, creating Ragnarok-the world shouts were endless and very much entertaining. Would have never guessed Id eventually join that guild (Rag) and be there when it split
6) Not being able to get into sw (surprising how often this has happened)

Overall a good experience... Lot of helpful people along the way, good memories. I believe when things started getting real bad was after the 5x diamond fiasco. Many people left, the server population was never the same.

Oh, and a guildie being silenced by a GM for a week for criticizing frogster in world chat. We had to make a new chat channel for him to talk

Well let's see... Ferret raid groups. Hunter raid groups. Dalanis momento raid groups. Tooeasy fan club raid groups... Scout burn raid groups... attempts at 200 man raid groups (Varanas nightmare) Forum raid groups. Game master raid groups. I'm seeing a lot of raid groups don't you think?

The things that i remember most mmm, well like most i also had trouble with the start horse only i had no idea how to get back on it. It was my first time playing an mmorpg so i was completely lost on what was going on.

I got pretty addicted to gathering right off the bat when i first did the quests in pioneer's village. I remember coming across cyanide ore and chime wood thinking it was super rare and probably worth a ton of gold.. i ran across howling mountains mining cyanide like it was a diamond hunt... took me a good few weeks to find out it wasnt the gem i thought it was.

I remember feeling like I was OP when i killed Yuri for the first time. made some good coin selling those daggers he dropped

Oh how can anyone forget running into Forsaken Abbey and Blood Gallery for the first time, i said good day to the zombie and he ate my brains. lol

also attending my first guild event when i was a lowly lvl 30, some random guild was hosting a server wide event which was awesome fun! we had a mass pk battle which we got slaughted by an OP lvl55!!!, a fashion contest, a foot race and a brainteaser.

These are just a few of my earlier memories just too many to put in one post... Although rom is tiresome with all the crap now, we old timers sure had a good run
