As a druid, it is bittersweet to see the guards finally scaled to our level.

Sweet in the fact that they're finally useful.

Bitter in that I probably won't be able to 1 shot them all :P

Good patch from what it seems, these changes have been needed for quite some time.

While I am annoyed that the redemption package is not here yet, I do like the guards having their levels raised. No more purging them down I guess. I should still be able to 1 hit flame the little guards, but the big guy will take a bit longer. I could only 1 hit flame the level 55 big guard if I got lucky with double hit and crits.

If siege is working properly without all the lag and crashes, then I will start playing more. For the last month I had only been doing my dailies.

You still need to raise the levels of the gates and buildings though. Scouts still can shoot through walls, even though you finally stopped magma blade. BTW, we had been asking for the guards and gates to get their levels boosted since ch4 came out. Also, find a way to put up a hack shield.

When do you plan on upgrading the stability of the game, both in siege and in normal game? I am sick of crashing when returning to character screen and porting, and having cities disappear, making me relog to fix it.

Overall, it is a decent patch, but the game needs soooo much more; especially making it less costly to gear up.

Boo for siege improvements. With siege actually somewhat playable again, looks like we have to stop in the middle of runs again to pwn noobs like Raves and Elvie!! RAAAAAAGGGEEE!!

Re Siege War Guard Level Change:

Yay? So, the guards will agro level 70 now, but will they do it on future level updates? If I was a software designer of this game and to make this a permanent change, I would from the very beginning:
1) Make sure the guards agro characters regardless of the character's level.
2) Have the guards hit/defense scale appropriately against the character that is attacking it. In this way, lower levels will have the same fun challenge of taking down guards as the current max levels.
"Guard hit level 30 for 200"
"Guard hit level 70 for 2000"
Just throwing out random numbers, but you get the idea.

By the way, WTB the ability to have 50 enter siege on a team once again...

I guess we will find out tonight. My guild is not signed up, but that is because they could nto stay up that late to sign up when siege was later. Too bad siege had been broken so long that we lost several players that wil not come back anymore.

So seige, Honor gaurd is a pain now... But the regular gaurds werent scalled at all jsut madelvl 70. They should get more hp and atatck. honor gaurd tho the fear/root/net thing all at one = perm stun for 20 sec is rediculous haha

Guards were a tiny little bit harder, still 1-hit the big guy more often than not & guards are still not aggroing properly, had a rogue sneak up behind, even with an eye to pop hide, guards did not attack until I did.

Did you really expect them to do something right? We had been asking for the guards to get upgraded since ch4 was released and they still messed it up after all this time.

Well, I'm trying to be positive. ;)

I guess the rogue was behind the guards but then I would have thought the big guard, being an officer & a gentleman, should be able to read well enough to read the same text that notifies us all when a tower is under attack.

I'm still waiting to test an honour guard. Had I read the patch notes before siege I would have asked our herald to place one.

imo, the guards were upgraded, but not made impossible, so they're still managable by a few level 55~65s, the real difference sets in with their avoidance of attacks from those lower levels, similiar to the tempest heights event with the round 10 mobs... if you're a lower level, you're gonna have a harder time even landing an attack on them. Not to mention the guards have a HUGE agro range now, just shy of about 200.

I think they did a fair job with the upgrade to the guards, and I "think" they also increased the AoE radius of the burning blaze attack of theirs, cause you get hit with that while being out of range of bows. I think that's a good addition as well, because it's a little unfair watching them get ranged down by casters who don't even take a hit.

No complaints from me. They hit me fairly decently when they had the chance to do so, but I still can 1 shot the guard leader with flame, and kill the little guys with instant casts. As if the little guys were regular 70 mobs, and the leader was an elite. Hope to see the honor guard in action more than I did today, as I was never by ours for more than 2 seconds as I was defending another tower and apparently 2 people took down theirs during a fearless.

I was not able to see the new toy soldiers in action. I was hoping they would be able to take a fair amount of hits before going 6ft under. Like mentioned above, if all guilds were below lvl 70 these guards would be doing the job they are supposed to, however with lvl 70 decently geared players running around they are still just merits bags for the taking.
