Seige War Merit Loss

Everyone crashes during Seige. Its inevitable. We take it with a sigh, and log back into the battle. However, what is totally frustrating and worthy of addressing is the loss of merits when relogging into the game.

If Herald can be saved when a player crashes, why can't our merits be saved as well? Is this being looked into?

I havent crashed in over a month once in siege... probably like two months... MAYBE people should look into their computer and internet.. Its sad when people wont do anything about their crashes... if you dont like it.. buy a better comp... buy better internet.. and lower your damn video settings for siege, and hide effects as a last resort... I used to crash a lot.. then i changed a few things around.. And Imagine that.. i dont crash nemore...
gotta love when people cry wolf.. but wont do anything about the wolf themselves.

<Throws some troll food over there>

The dude is concerned about merit loss upon re-entering of siege...not the crashes.

As for the OP, I agree 100% It is frustrating when you build a stash of flame towers, treaches, eyes and have a stack of merits that go poof when the game crashes.

i no, but if u dont crash you dont lose merits, we have many people that crash consistently in siege, and we make those people stay where they are and we have a couple people who dont crash.. go and grab those merits consistently.. that way merits never get lost.. find someone in your guild that doesnt crash and doesnt mind being a runner.

I definatley agree at least merits should be saved upon entering seige, however if u crash it kicks you out of seige, and If it actually saved the merits people would and could farm merits whole seige, leave seige, save the merits... and keep em piling..

This is why i like how it is atm, delete upon leaving seige crash or not... however... there have been cases when leaving seige and i have merits in my bp but they disapeaer when re entering seige or zoning usually.

Only a true s/k is this honest :p

My first thought is that you could farm merits during easy match ups and have a ton ready to go for tougher opponents. 2nd thought - just put a timer on them. 1 hour, 4 hours, etc. Anything less than 24 should work.

The merits "If" they were saved should go poof as soon a the hour for siege is up so there is no Hoarding or stock pile tatics to get instant Herrold and upgrades at the start of future matches.

And the common ways of preventing expired items from disappearing should not work too... but they do.

I would love this, it seems whenever I hit the magic number of 500+ I crash <.<

in certain situations that could make the win or lose.

@farmertom many people, myself included, run siege at absolute low detail with a steady 50-80 ping with amazing high detail skyrim running PCs and still crash to no avail. if theres like 50 flame towers and 20 people all fighting in the same area who have DoD lagged themselves then the game itself gets unstable. I'm sure if I was running 32bit I'd crash less but F that.

50 fps 14-60 ping in siege war. I crash every now and then in siege. I also almost always crash when going to the city in thunderhill.

There are many people that crash, some with computers that blows yours to dust i am sure. So please shut it and get lost troll :)

On topic, Would be nice if it saved merit count for players like it saves info about a player being herald and when siege is over it resets.

My guess is RW does not care (probably that) or they can't seem to think of how to code it.

Im just voicing it because i dont understand why everyone crashes a lot when im running with crap. lol

Brillant get your best geared op guild member to be a merit runner because they don't crash..
Now why didn't we think of that.

This post was not about fixing crashes. Its about saving ingame items that were legit won, and loosing them after a game crash whether that is due to ROM's coding or the user's computer.

First, I have a brand new computer, with all the latest drivers, video card, etc. The ONLY thing this computer runs is ROM. I highly doubt my computer is causing me to crash in ROM, but even IF it were so, it is the coder's responsibility to investigate each crash and fix his code based on error reports which include computer configurations. This has NOT been done.

So, at the very least, the coder SHOULD provide a if/and scenerario when a player crashes, that his siege items are returned to him... just like they return a Herald status to a player under the SAME circumstances.

ANY items that were earned during siege can be coded to POOF when the SW is over.

Thanks for trolling my thread.

Give them a 2 hour expiration time. Well more then enough to cover the whole time of siege, but unaffected by getting kicked.

my 2 cents.

19

Thursday, March 15th 2012, 1:48am

It's my understanding that the methods of preventing items from expiring use various storage items, such as chests. Why not make merits a quest item, which can't be put in such containers, then put a timer on them?

So you told people to upgrade their computers, get a better video card etc while you're sitting there with a dinosaur of a PC?

It was your sour and combative attitude that turned people off in this thread. Backtracking now or not.
